The staff was the nicest and most attentive I have yet experienced. They carried our luggage all the way up to the hotel because there were only steps, no ramps. They also parked our car because the parking situation is a bit difficult there. The receptionist gave us inspiration on what to do in the city and also recommended the free walking tour to us, which was great. The room was very pretty and smelled really nice the first time we entered, and it was cleaned every day. Breakfast was amazing, they prepared it freshly for us and served it to the table. The fried eggs were spot on. It was also nice to sit on the terrace while having good coffee. The way to the city center was a bit of a climb but with the shortcut the staff showed us it was manageable.

First stayed with Edmond eight years ago when he had just opened Mele - it was a memorable stay. Over that time he has put in a huge amount of work to evolve the guesthouse while somehow managing to maintain the same cosy feeling and the same warm smile. It’s great to see him succeed and Mele is a must-stay place when visiting Gjirokaster … which itself is a must-visit location for a few days when exploring Albania.

Everything was perfect, very nice room, climatization was working good (it was cold in January), bed was comfty, owners were very kind and helpful and we had a delicious breakfast with mountain tee which I like the most :) Highly recommended :)

Super nice hosts, each member of the family has been lovely, friendly, and ready to point out interesting sights of Gjirokaster. The most amazing breakfast has been served in the beautiful cafe of this boutique hotel, by the host herself. Remarkably tasty, thoughtful, delicious, presented with love and care for food and for their guests. Every morning we had different dishes to taste, what a wonderful start into the day! The location could not be better, the house is directly at the entrance to the old town, exactly where you want to be when visiting Gjirokaster, close to the historical sites, interesting museums, restaurants, and shops with traditional local products. The room in the house with lots of traditional features like playful curtains and pretty stone and woodwork has lots of space to sit comfortably, to store all things and suitcases away, and a huge bed with lovely comfortable bedding. To say only the best words would still not be good enough. So we shall simply call this accommodation the best imaginable stay in town. Try it out, you shall have no regrets!

The stay exceeded my expectations - it was very well run in regards to service, cleanliness, and overall comfort. We booked a room with a view of the castle, and we were able to enjoy it on the wrap around balcony. It had a table and two comfortable chairs. Inside the room, you had everything you could want. There was enough space to have two suitcases laid out, and enough table/counter space for things. The WIFI was very fast and reliable. The bathroom area was very clean and big. Breakfast was included, and we were greeted by a couple who prepared it. Parking was included!
