We zagen in de tuin van de lodge de meeste vogels van onze hele reis in costa rica! Het personeel geeft ook meteen uitleg als ze je zien kijken. Daarnaast deden we een heel fijne paardrijwandeling door de jungle. Zelf was ik wat terughoudend hiervoor maar de begeleiders waren heel professioneel en rustig. Ondanks gebrek aan ervaring hadden we geen moment schrik! Het restaurant ter plaatse is ook prima en heel betaalbaar. De kamers hebben een eigen tuin of terras met mooi uitzicht. Een aanrader!

San Bosco Inn ligt in het stadje La Fortuna en biedt een buitenzwembad, een weelderige tuin, gratis WiFi in de openbare ruimtes en kamers met uitzicht op de tuin. The location is fantastic in town . Off busy street but close to center. The free buffet breakfast was great and although the same every day it offered many choices. Room was comfortable & clean. Great hot water pressure in shower.There is a roof top viewing area where you get a great view of Arenal Volcano. Great helpful friendly staff! It was an added bonus to get into Volcano Hot Springs! It’s a 15min drive from town.

Hotel Roca Negra Del Arenal, gelegen in de buitenwijken van Fortuna, biedt een buitenzwembad en een hot tub. Er is gratis WiFi beschikbaar. The location is perfect and the hotel offers a spacious room with a comfortable bathroom and a lot of shelf space. The setting is very private with a large covered deck overlooking a manicured grounds. We even watched many times an armadillo busy searching for food a meter away from us. A beautiful swimming pool and a hot tub was a nice addition and the self-serve bar with coffee and tea provided us with some refreshments. There is also a pool table and table tennis for the rainy days. A very affordable Soda el Turnito is just across the road for a delicious meal. Elizabeth from the reception showed us a beautiful garden in the back of the property. She is very caring and funny! All in all, we had a very relaxing time here and can whole heartedly recommend to others.

Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails wordt omgeven door 348 hectare eigen tropisch regenwoud. Location is actually in the protected natural reserve. 350 hectare park contains well designed flower park full of colibris, primary forest, water fall. We stayed in a separate building, with direct view to Arenal and the forest: at the morning, one could watch all the birds: tucans, colibris etc. You have to walk through a hanging bridge to ghe restaurant, which has a marvelous view. The hotel organises free walks on the marked forest tracks, one can see buttetfliea, frogs, birds, spider monkeys. There is a 20 m metal tower that rises above the trees. When we were in the tower, a group of monkeys passed below us. Swiming pool and jacuzzi is right in the forest. Restaurant is fine. Upon arrival, towels were organized into a snail shape 😁

Dit tropische hotel ligt naast de Arenal-vulkaan van Costa Rica, op 6 km van La Fortuna. Zalige zwembaden! Heerlijk warm water. Lekker ontbijtbuffet. Heerlijk gegeten in het restaurant ‘s avonds (we kozen voor a la carte in plaats van buffet) Onze kamer/huisje lag perfect kortbij de zwembaden. Als je boven op de berg ligt is het toch een hele beklimming, maar er rijden shuttlebussen rond.
