The facility is well curated in every detail and it was great value for money. But what I loved the most was our host: she went above and beyond to help us with all our questions and was extremely supportive when on the checkout morning I was feeling unwell.

Facilities are great and very clean.

We love the Kaiseki dinner, their sets breakfast, and their rooms are equipped with private onsen and it is Modernised and exceptionally clean. Their public onsen is spacious, clean and fully equipped.

Do be sure to let them know in advance so they can plan and prepare. Kiryu is a wonderful place full of history, and this former geisha house fits right in. Aside from touring the city, an evening spent getting to know both the hosts and the house can be an attraction too!

The heater option was great after a long day in the cold.

The ryokan has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. That was a very peaceful and enjoyable stay. We were warmly welcomed; the traditional room was huge and very clean, and the dinner was amazing. They also offer excellent vegetarian options for both dinner and breakfast. Futon beds were comfy. We woke up early to meditate at the temple, and we were given explanations about the temple’s history, as well as a guided visit. It was one of our best stays in Japan, and we couldn’t recommend it enough :)

Also made use of the massage service in the room, very professional and great massage overall. The system is set up easily so you can enjoy this in your privacy and comfort.

Probably the greatest thing we like about the Ryokan. - The room, it was amazing, clean and tidy - We only used the private onsen (which is first come first serve basis, no booking required), temperature is just right with great view once you opened the window.
