Later that evening that lady owner, that speaks english, arrived and we chatted and she helped me with planning other accomodation for the trip. She has other property where she was providing dinner but my diet requirment were chalenging so I got my food at a convini. The location is perfect - adjucent to the pier for the continuation of the trip. The house also has a washer and dryer that I used w/o issues. Although there were a few rooms in the house I was the only guest. The real surprise was in the morning when they came over to meet me at the pier with music, flags and a banner to say goodby.

Would highly recommend if looking for an experience off the beaten path. We especially enjoyed warming up in the fire pit, while BBQing a delicious meal and enjoying the relaxing and awesome views from the mountains.

Our host, Kenji, was incredibly helpful and kind, he not only shared great suggestions for local restaurants but even offered to call ahead and make a reservation for us. The entire stay was peaceful and relaxing, and if it had been possible, I would have gladly booked a few more nights just to enjoy the stunning views and quiet atmosphere.

The guesthouse was conveniently located near the airport and the freeway, making it easy to access our destination, Dogo Onsen. Initially, I was concerned about parking, but the guesthouse was on a wide road, which is important to know when renting a car in Japan. It was simple to maneuver in and out of the parking spaces located behind the house. The guesthouse was in the town of Noichi, where we enjoyed delicious meals at nearby restaurants. Additionally, its central location between my two other destinations, Kochi-shi and Aki-shi, meant that I didn't have to drive a lot in one day. Our host, Kyoko-san, was incredibly friendly and kind. Since it was the off-season, she gave the three of us two rooms, which allowed for a comfortable stay. I slept well during our time there. Unfortunately, I lost a hubcap from the rental car—it's a long story. On our departure morning, Kyoko-san went out of her way to prepare breakfast for my son and me. After saying our goodbyes, Kyoko-san called to inform us that my son had left his passport and charger behind. She kindly brought them all the way to the airport for us. Overall, I felt that the guesthouse was truly a home away from home.
