Urasa Cottage @ Snow Countryside bevindt zich in Minami Uonuma, op 29 km van Skiresort Gala Yuzawa en 25 km van skioord Maiko. Clean, tidy, comfortable bed and Hongjie (staff) was extremely kind and gave us a lift to nearby ski resort AND let us leave bags at the cottage AND picked us up from skiing AND gave us a lift to the station.

We stayed here with our family during a two-week road trip around Japan, starting in Tokyo and staying in six different places along the way. Out of all the accommodations we booked, Sundance Resort Naeba was our clear favorite by a huge margin. The unit is incredibly spacious, with a stunning two-story window overlooking the snow-covered mountains. When it snows, it genuinely feels like you’re looking out at a giant snow globe. The apartment had far more space than our family of three needed, featuring a master bedroom on the second floor, another bedroom on the first floor, and two beds in each room. Cleanliness was not an issue at all, the place was spotless. It’s also very well equipped, with a pantry, dining table, heated floors, two toilets (each with its own bathtub), and a laundry room on the first floor. Another highlight was the privacy: the building is divided into north and south wings, with only one unit per floor, making the stay feel very exclusive and peaceful. At night, the resort was wonderfully quiet and serene, likely because we were there at the very start of the ski season, before the crowds arrived and while many nearby businesses were still closed. The staff were exceptional, always friendly, warm, and attentive. They even spoiled my wife with sweets and snacks throughout our stay. As a bonus, our booking included a delightful breakfast each morning. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It was truly a fantastic and memorable stay Oh yeah there's free parking too for those driving up.

Wij verbleven hier met ons gezin van 4 tijdens de Earth Celebration festival, omdat in Ogi geen accomodatie meer vrij was. Zeer proper hostel, propere toiletten en gemeenschappelijke badkamer met goede douche. Heel vriendelijke ontvangst. Op wandelafstand van het busstation en het strand.

Noka Minshuku Sanzen bevindt zich op 24 km van Skiresort Gala Yuzawa en biedt een tuin en een terras. De accommodaties hebben airconditioning, een balkon en gratis WiFi. We are so glad to find this gem! The hosts, including the cat, Mame, were most kind, warm, and hospitable. We went to the restaurants that they recommended. Ichihiro was superb, so good that we went twice! The host drove us there and back so that we could enjoy sake. The place is just lovely - the decor, the space. Everything works well. Heating was great as the weather turned cold. Appreciate the washing machine too. Despite the language barrier, we communicated well. Sincerely appreciate the oranges and persimmons that they gave us. They were so delicious!

Yado Brodiaea bevindt zich op 31 km van Zenkō-ji Tempel, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. Er is een gedeelde lounge bij deze accommodatie en je kunt in de buurt skiën. Definitely one of the best stay experience so far in Japan. The hosts are extremely good and I am out of words to describe how welcoming they are. They took care of every small thing we needed and beyond that. They guided us through all the necessary details of the town, gave us a short tour of the town and also dropped and picked us up from the ski resort. The entire property has floor heating and was so clean, comfortable and cozy. I am really thankful to them for all the efforts they have made to make our trip a memorable one.

Pension Moomin Papa bevindt zich in Myoko, op 31 km van Zenkō-ji Tempel en 33 km van station Nagano. De accommodatie biedt gratis WiFi, airconditioning, een tuin en een gedeelde lounge. Very homely and accommodating hosts. Onsen was great. Rooms warm. Breakfast was very good.

Maruyama Onsen Kojyokan ligt in Minami Uonuma, op 2 km van het Maiko Snow Resort. Het biedt een terras en een warmwaterbron. Er is gratis privéparkeergelegenheid bij de accommodatie. Truly one of the most wonderful inns I’ve stayed at in all of my times in Japan! The place is immaculate and feels lovely and new while also having a wonderful 「懐かしい」 vibe to it. From the very start all of the staff were kind and considerate and showed us all the ropes! I adored that the entry into the rooms is all keyless—there’s touch keypads on the doors! We tried all three baths since we reserved the wonderful private rooftop bath. As an FYI for anyone unaccustomed to such a thing, the rooms themselves do not have showers—you’re meant to use the bath areas for your cleaning, so if you’re uncomfortable with the onsen experience in Japan just be aware! You totally should get over your anxieties and use the bath though—they’re relaxing and luxuriant! We had one dinner with them and two breakfasts, and all of the food was absolutely delightful! The breakfast was buffet style and full of local/seasonal ingredients, and the dinner was course after course and we were very very well fed. All in all, I can’t say enough wonderful things. We adored our stay!

Het Yuzawa Grand Hotel ligt op 2 minuten lopen van het treinstation Echigo Yuzawa en het Sake Museum. Het biedt 3 openbare baden, een massageservice en gratis privéparkeergelegenheid. Yuzawa Grand hotel gave us the best Japan cultural immersion experience. Our room had both the western style bed but with Japanese tatamis and spare futons. This has been the highlight of our Japan trip as we experienced eating oranges in a low Japanese table, sleep in futons, experience the amazing Onsens Hot springs both indoor and outdoor. The hotel is very engaging, clean, accommodating-- i cannot praise it enough. It is also in this hotel that we tried sukiyaki for the first time and many amazing dishes and seafood in both their breakfast and dinner offers. We would really love to visit again in a few years time hopefully:)

Kogakuro ligt in een vredig landschap en biedt aangename kamers in Japanse stijl met veel natuurlijke lichtinval. Amazing host, Mieko-san made the stay feel so special with her warmth, helpful demeanor and cheery greetings. Location was great for Akakura Onsen runs, food restaurants were nearby. Breakfast eggs and pancakes were standout items. Room was big and comfortable.
