The onsen is super nice, sauna is the largest I've ever seen. Room decor and functionality is 15/10. The best Its a nice halfway point if you're driving to Osaka.

The location was perfect for getting away from the busy streets of Tokyo, though I highly recommend renting a (small!) car to get here, as it is tucked away from public trsnsportation routes. Our room was clean, surprisingly well equipped and comfortable. Service was spot on, communication with our host was easy and quick. We never saw any of the staff though, which made the quality of service just that much more impressive. We were the only guests staying here at the time, so we had all facilities to ourselves (an introvert's dream). There were plenty of instructions in english for all the general how-tos, check-in and check-out was easy using the machine. Prepare to face some bugs around the area, we had a few interesting encounters with moths by the entrance. The room itself was equipped with bugspray and deterrents, though we didn't need them as our room was perfectly wildlife free. The bug screen in the private onsen kept the bugs at bay, allowing us to bathe and sleep while enjoying the sounds and smells of the surrounding nature!

IG2 源泉掛け流し温泉付きの宇佐美貸切宿 お宿 喜喜哀楽 Oyado Kikiairaku is gelegen in Ito, op een paar minuten lopen van Usami Beach en 24 km van Shuzenji tempel. The accommodation was comfortable and homey, and the hosts Ben and Aya were welcoming and gracious. The hot spring was a nice additional feature too, which provided warm water on cold nights. The cleanliness of the place was well maintained and the interior was well decorated with efficient use of space.
