The host, Michikusa, was very good with communication and offered to collect me from Kawaguchiko train station as well as drop me off the day I departed. This was a great help and very much appreciated! On check in Michikusa recommended a few points of interest to visit during my stay according to the weather. I managed to tick most of them off which made for a great day exploring the beautiful surrounding nature. The hostel is well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It was a pleasure staying there and I would 100% return on my next visit! Thank you!

There are shared bathrooms on the ground floor, and Mt. Fuji is visible on sunny days from several rooms. A TV is provided in the Queen Room. Kagelow is one of the most stunning hostels I have stayed at. It is immaculately clean and the facilities are lush! There is an onsite restaurant and bar and the hostels outfit is beautiful. I stayed in both the hostel dorm rooms and also the private hostel rooms, both were exceptional! Highly recommend for solo and group travellers if you are looking for a more relaxed atmosphere!

In-room massages can be arranged at an additional charge. Absolutely loved my experience at Highland Resort!! Especially if you're going to Fuji-Q, you should definitely consider staying here. There are so many advantages, here are a few: - not only there's a special entrance directly from the hotel to Fuji-Q, which saves you time, but also, you can enter the park 30 minutes BEFORE regular visitors!!!! That means much shorter or even no lines at all!! - the onsen attached to the hotel (which is included in your stay and you can use all your want) is one of the best I've been in Japan (and I love onsen, so I often go to them). - the staff is super friendly and they speak good English. They were very helpful with everything that I needed. - the room is really clean and comfortable, and the view is just amazing! You can choose Mount Fuji or Fuji-Q view. (I chose the park because I'm a parks tour guide so I wanted to have this particular experience). - not sure if all rooms have these, but mine had a massage chair, an awesome shower and even this device that could turn the bathroom into a mist sauna. - breakfast is incredible!! Excellent food and breathtaking views (Mount Fuji on one side and Fuji-Q on the other side of the restaurant). - free parking. Just take the parking ticket to the front desk and they'll validate if for you (you can come and go freely during your stay). - less than 5-minute-drive from Mount Fuji parking lot so it was refreshing to come down Mount Fuji and drive very little to get to the hotel.

The New Century offers free private parking and drinks vending machines. The hotel was wonderful from the very first moment. We arrived by car and found organized parking right in front of the hotel. The staff warmly welcomed us, took photos of us with the cherry blossoms and Mount Fuji, and then handled our luggage. Check-in was very clear and detailed, and our room had a stunning view of the lake and Fuji — absolutely beautiful! The location was excellent, and the traditional Japanese breakfast was both delicious and a memorable experience. We truly enjoyed our stay and even felt a bit sad that we didn’t have an extra day there. Highly recommended!
