First, I can’t imagine a better location to the two key sites, the most famous being Lions Rock. When we arrived we immediately felt cared for, safe and comfortable. The grounds are an oasis of tropical plants and the pool was a welcome respite from the heat. Our beds were just the right firmness and the rooms were very specious and clean. The staff is very responsive and helped us in numerous way have a great visit to the Sigiriya surroundings. I learned from a driver how the owner cares for his team, helping them financially when times were bad during COVID and other problems in the country. Absolutely stellar experience.

Some rooms feature a seating area to relax in after a busy day. All units include views of the garden. Rooms include a private bathroom equipped with a shower. Comfortable bed and pillows. There was air conditioning in the room which was so needed in the humid jungle! The husband and wife running the home stay have excellent English. They are so kind and helpful. We had an issue with the fan in the room and it was fixed within minutes! We had an incredible spread for breakfast and didn’t need to eat again until the evening.

It felt like they had thought of everything from live music, magicians, music in the bathrooms and such a beautiful setting in the forest/jungle. The monkeys are so fun to watch especially the ones with the black faces. Yes this hotel is on the higher price point but it’s worth it for the atmosphere and attention from the many staff. Everything can be arranged by the reception with many experiences or a tuk tuk if you need to go to Dambulla. The buffet dinner is amazing with so much to choose from and of high quality and the buffet breakfast is delicious also.
