The centrally located Pohutukawa Lodge is an 8-minute walk from Whangarei's town centre. It is 5 minutes' drive from Whangarei Events Centre and Toll Stadium (Semenoff Stadium). Whangarei Airport is a 15-minute drive away. The Manager was most helpful, obliging and friendly. Our apartment was clean, very comfortable, easy access and well located to town and attractions. The manager advised us of the many attractions to be seen. Certainly would recommend the Lodge. the washing machine was very welcome.

We got to feed the sheep and alpacas and especially enjoyed the pigs.

Great value for money, everything was great - room and bathroom were clean and it really felt like being at home. Could use kitchen/living room and Cindy and Schalk were great hosts. I would gladly stay here again.

The property and the house are just beautiful everything is so clean and looks fantastic. You will enjoy your stay there from the first second you arrive until the last minutes when you have to leave. We would highly recommend this place as it was the best experience in New zeeland!!! The rooms are so pretty and the beds are very comfy. The breakfast is outstanding with nice fresh homegrown vegetables and fruits. The outsight is a paradise for children with the fireplace, the spa and the tennis court and not to forget the chickens.

Fantastic location, beautiful house and wonderful hosts!

Very comfortable, nice breakfast selection including lovely fresh sourdough bread. Jan recommended heading to the surf beach to see the last of the sun which was beautiful. She also recommended a restaurant/pub for dinner which was perfect for our last night in NZ. To top it all off, the skies were so clear from the garden, we were able to see the Milky Way and millions of stars. A perfect end to our holiday. Thanks for hosting us. Couldn't have been better.
