The city is conveniently located less than 20 minutes away by car, and the lake is easily accessible either by walking or driving. This is a place we will always remember fondly and highly recommend to anyone seeking a relaxing and memorable getaway.

Sometimes you forget how good and kind people can be — and then someone like Richard (Richard and Isabel are the owners) comes along and reminds you. I arrived early at 08:00, before check-in time, after a long night train. I was tired, confused, and had many concerns about my ski plans (we dont ski in Israel, and it was my first time). Then I met Richard at the reception. He noticed my stress and calmly said, "Why don’t we start with breakfast? Allow me to take care of your belongings untill the room is ready." He truly wrapped me in care and kindness — and it meant the world to me. All my questions were answered by Isabel, who gave me great recommendations and guidance. Richard shared helpful ski tips, and I even received a lovely Easter gift — a small egg filled with chocolates. The place itself is very clean, breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the only downside is the distance to the ski area, which can be a bit challenging. To summarize — I 100% recommend this place. We visited Åre for a week to ski in early April. The hosts were very flexible with the arrival time and communication was easy. The apartment was clean, comfortable and the kitchen was well equiped for home cooked meals. Remember to bring your own linens but you can also rent them from the host. MårtenLiens Gård is a walking distance away from the VM8 ski lift but unfortunately for us, there was no snow in the valley so we coudn't ski-in/ski-out. It is also a walking distance away from the the town with all the shops and restaurants. We had a rental car so having a car park was great.
