We stayed there with our 4 children and would come again if given half the chance. And the town of Tamezret, just a few minutes away on foot, was a very poetic visit.

Habib and his family were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The dinner and breakfast were also (by far) the best meals we've had during our entire 10-day trip across Tunisia. Would definitely make a point of returning there if we make it to this part of the world again.

Stay in Matmata Chez Azouni bevindt zich in Matmata in de regio Gabes en biedt accommodatie met gratis privéparkeren. The flat is a hidden gem, everything was super new and very clean. It is very well decorated and equipped. We had everything we needed such as coffee machine, plates, washing machine, hob, airconditionning and heating, duvets and towels. We felt spoilt with the fresh breakfast delivered to our door, we had a variety of food that kept us full all day along with coffee and fresh juice. The area is super safe, we walked around at night, and it felt very safe. The host were very kind and helpful, the let us in and kept asking if we need anything, we felt very welcome. There are great restaurants and coffee places few minutes away. It is highly recommended to stay in this luxury spot to explore Matmata, and to visit the Troglodyte homes and to discover the impressive veiws of the mountains around. The flat has great views over the mountains. We will definitely come back again to discover the whole area around Matmata.

Maison El Omrane 2, een accommodatie met een tuin en een terras, bevindt zich in Bin Rhilouf, op 15 minuten lopen van Belvedre Parc, 2,8 km van Sidi Mahrez Mosque, en 3,1 km van Dar Lasram Museum. Great place overall. Host was super helpful and we had absolutely no issues. Only slight drawback was the location as it isn’t very central but we needed to be in this area so it was not a problem at all

Despite the language barrier, we connected with the French ladies at our table, with host Patrick kindly translating. It was a delightful surprise to have such an authentic French experience in Tunisia. Writing in the guest book with ink for the first time made it even more special. Staying here is worth it for the dinner alone—the most delicious way to taste camel meat and dates!

This family-run troglodyte-style hotel has been around since 1975, and you can feel the tradition and warmth. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms, carved into the rocks, are super unique, well-furnished, and come with a private toilet and shower. And the food? Absolutely amazing! For just 25 dinars, you get a massive dinner : soup, salad with brick, main dish, and dessert. Good luck finishing it all! 😄 Plus breakfast is included. A fantastic place to stay for an authentic and cozy experience!
