We only stayed for a night after doing the Cao Bang loop and we were very tired so it was perfect for resting. Beautiful, very comfortable and most of all, it was quiet and we could have a great sleep. We booked a lake view room, but even so, the location is not as busy as the center might be and it was great. Breakfast was rich and delicious too, the staff were very nice and kind so we highly recommended this hotel, it was perfect!

If possible, try and make your way down down to Homestay Cánh Đồng Vàng because, as beautiful as it is, it also gives you an amazing jumping-off point to experience the Bac Son Valley. Tri made sure that after we got in (after a quite long motorbike trip, so we definitely needed a break) we had a clean room to go and decompress to. Beyond that, the family was super welcoming and gracious. They asked us to have dinner with them, which was delicious, filling, and all in all quite the feast. After dinner we de-camped with Tri and talked more about what brought us to the area, which is a bit out of the way, but highly recommended to make it happen. I really enjoyed our conversation and, if I wasn't so exhausted, I would have loved to keep talking over tea. I wish I had more time to chat with Tri, but even still, it was an amazing experience and stay and I couldn't recommend this homestay enough to other travelers.

The place is located in a scenic valley with a stunning view to the mountains. The facilities are beautiful, modern and exceptionally clean with a hot shower and nice interior. The staff is going really going the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and welcome and the food is sooo delicious! You can even get your own BBQ on your private terrace. I cannot recommend this place enough! If you are looking for a peaceful place, this is it!

The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. May Retreat was perfect for our group of 4 couple, with 4 seperate bedrooms and an enclosed lounge/communal area up stairs (it was a little cold the night we stayed) we had a great night playing cards on the bean bags. This is truly a beautiful place to stay !

Guest rooms in the accommodation are fitted with a flat-screen TV and a hairdryer. The hotel was great. Lovely room and great facilities but spoilt for me by the location near a bar or karaoke lounge that played thumping bass music until 2am. I found it difficult to get to asleep but others may not find this a problem. Even more disappointing as I had asked for a quiet room.Shame because the hotel is so good and staff are so friendly and helpful. I only stayed one night so maybe the music was just a one off?
