This is the perfect place to stay if you want to get to know the real Sal and its people. The owners went above and beyond to make me feel not only welcome, but truly at home. The room was super comfy, and the food was always delicious (be sure to try one of Candida's secret recipes for dinner, if you get the chance). I was provided with all the help and advice I needed in order to explore the island, and Candida and Martin personally took me to places that only local people know about. If, like me, you prefer a quiet, remote beach over those crowed, touristy ones: there's a small one just a short bicycle ride away – although I usually opted for a walk through to beautiful steppe landscape to get there. If you prefer spending your days with the other tourists down in the south of the island: Santa Maria beach is only 20 minutes by bus – which may sound complicated at first, but is actually super fun and convenient (and it only costs 1 Euro). I could go on praising this place for two weeks (which is actually the amount of time I stayed), but I'll just stop here – not without saying: Thank you, Candida & Martin, for the wonderful time at kleine schweiz! We traveled as a family and the apartment was just what we were looking for: comfortable, well-equipped, and peaceful. The location is excellent, very close to the beach, the facilities were above expectations and the pool was great and the security of the place was impeccable. We felt very welcome and had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended!

the apartment is really super. I especially appreciated the cleanliness, comfort and silence that this place gave me. The possibility of a kitchen gives the opportunity to buy products in nearby shops and be able to cook freely. A place to be truly relaxed throughout your stay. The welcome upon my arrival was perfect. When I return to Santa Maria I will not hesitate to contact them for another stay.

Porto Antigo is several building of apartments in a well located area of Santa Maria, with security, reception open until late, and a private pool overseeing a bay protected from the waves where you can swim all time. The apartment I had assigned was marvellous, always kept very clean, and quiet. The staff of Porto Antigo was very helpful at all time, supporting me on all requests, and even overcoming and helping me with any issue I could have. I would definitely choose it again!
