A highlight of my 11-day trip through Egypt! After experiencing all kinds of accommodations—including a luxurious all-inclusive five-star resort in Hurghada—this was hands-down my favorite hotel and the one I absolutely have to recommend. The location is excellent, and thanks to the warm hospitality of the owner, I even got to enjoy a rare experience: swimming at a sandy beach on the Nile River. Yes, a beach on the Nile! Each day we enjoyed delicious local Egyptian food for breakfast and dinner, made with fresh vegetables. The owner would personally introduce the dishes and explain how to eat them, which made each meal feel special. And let’s not forget Cooper, the adorable dog who kept us company during our stay. The room was a bit small, but the staff were incredibly kind and made everything feel effortless. We had a 3:40 AM departure to visit Abu Simbel, and the staff were already up waiting for us—with a packed breakfast ready and even a boat to take us to the dock. Not once did anyone mention tips or extra charges. If you've traveled in Egypt, you know how exhausting it can be to constantly deal with price changes and repeated tipping. Here, everything felt honest and respectful—you tip if and when you feel like it. That level of trust and kindness made a big difference.

It is a small guesthouse with a cozy feel and very thoughtfully put together, nice common breakfast and chill out space, hot water in the shower with good presure, full breakfast, I had a very good time chatting with other guests and Hafez the owner who is very welcoming. The house is right next to the river and the market in the village which is a lot of fun and lively, will defenetly come back !

There are no words to start describing Abu. He is probably the most gentle person I've seen. He received us with his boat and took us to the hotel, and he was very welcoming. He helped us find transportation when we were kind of stuck and didn't know how to move in Aswan, and he also took us on a tour the the Nubian town and transported us as many times as we wanted and he charged us really fairly. He even had breakfast for us ready when we had to wake up super early to go to Abu Simbel and even gave my mother in law a massage to help her with her back problem. Really, an amazing host.

Our stay in Artika wadi Kiki was AMAZING! The view is the best you will find in the Nubian Village. Food is great - we spent the three days eating at the hotel. Everything was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend. It is the best guesthouse I have ever stayed. Room was very nice and comfortable, breakfast was delicious. Esraa is amazing and very helpful. She arranged for me excursion to Abu Simbel and transfer to Luxor via Kom Ombo and Edfu. When I will back to Aswan, I will stay there again.

We had a few difficult requests due to our tight schedule. Kafana helped us get the laundry done within 24 hours (we were due to leave at the break of dawn the day after) He also helped us arrange for transport for a very early train (7.30am) and even brought us not just to the trains station, but all the wait to our seat inside the train itself. He helped us carry one of our heaviest luggage during this whole time Stay with Kafana knowing that he will take good care of his guests
