House is a generously proportioned 3 bed detached on an estate 5 mins walk from the beach. A lot of care has been taken to ensure a homely feel. Provision of cake, milk, plenty of coffee pods for the machine, some basic food items enough for a meal if you arrive late (replace on trust). Tastefully done xmas decorations were up for our stay (27-30 Dec). We were able to host extended family during the day without feeling cramped. Simple instructions for entry, and enough information about the area provided. Would stay again as have relatives nearby.

Excellent location for camping or pod staying, with BBQ facilities, wood for fire and very good shower and toilet facilities. There is drinking water available at the tap and a washing place for dishes. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The fields around the farm are simply from another world; it is so beautiful to watch the sun rise and set over the golden fields. Nearby you can go to Tiptree where there are shops and the very nice Tea Room of the Tiptree jam factory. Either very nice places to visit near by, in order of distance: Monastery of St. John the Baptist, Tolleshunt Knights, Beth Chatto Gardens, West Mersea (great fresh sea food), Clacton on Sea - excellent sandy beach for swimming (water was quite nice for early July, 18 degrees, go a bit higher toward Holland on Sea for easy parking).
