This is a very large property with lots of space for a family. It’s Japanese style but there are also western style beds if you prefer. The owner is very kind and left many snacks and food for us to enjoy. She is an excellent communicator. The location is perfect - right next to Nara station

We had such an amazing time at Machiya no Yado Gu! The house gave us the feeling of traditional Japan, while being kitted out with all the modern amenities we could have wished for. Spacious, quiet, tastefully designed - and an unbeatable location a stone’s throw away from Nara park. Best of all, we had one of the most incredible hosts we’ve ever encountered. He went out of his way to generously help us every step of the way. Even drove us to the train station on his actual birthday! Can’t wait to be back!

Was very stylish and looked exactly like in the pictures. Bed is very comfortable as is the sofa situation. Fridge was loaded with refreshments, and there was ample coffee/tea. Bathtub and shower worked well and you get Aesop products. Hosts are very easy to communicate with and you're close to most things so its all quite easy to figure out.

The eggs used are fresh eggs picked up in the chicken coop every day. It is super excellent! Kevin and Yukie recommend nearby private attractions, such as 岩船寺, 笠置寺 and和茶園, etc., all of which are impressive and satisfy the body and mind.
