I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at this elegant 4-star hotel near Pashupatinath Temple. Its location is superb—close to both international and domestic airports and only a few kilometers to major sightseeing places. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, making us feel at home right away. I loved relaxing at the rooftop restaurant, where the city and Himalayan views are truly mesmerizing but weather changes quickly. Whether you’re on a pilgrimage, holiday, or business trip, this property stands out as one of the top hotels in Kathmandu.

Really good localisation, in the heart of Thamel ! The dormitory is clean, comfortable, with real hot water !!! They are female and male dormitory. The breakfast is generous and really good (bread, jam, butter, egg, banana…) and provide also drinking water (hot and cold). And the staff is friendly.

The owner is very kind and always available, helping with any questions about treks and transportation. The rooms are very clean, and there is always hot water for showers. The Wi-Fi works very well. The breakfast is delicious, and they even store your backpack for free while you go trekking. I will definitely return to this place!

My second home truly lives up to its name. For Nepali standards, it is really good! The location is excellent—right in the heart of Thamel, close to everything you might need: shops, restaurants, cafés, and travel agencies. The owner is exceptionally helpful and accommodating. I was allowed both a late check-in and an early check-in, which made my stay so much more comfortable. Another big advantage is the possibility to store your luggage for a day or even for several weeks if you are going trekking and don’t want to carry everything with you. The rooms are quite clean, the showers are wonderfully hot, and overall it’s a very good value for the price, with included breakfast. I will come back.

Dinesh and his wife and young daughter are great host! Dinesh is a very affable host, but also very cognisant to respect guests preferences to enjoy the homestay in private as needed. Depending on your travel preferences (interaction or not) Dinesh is very accommodating. Dinesh makes you feel welcomed from day one, and no request is too big or small. He is happy to take you around town, and really makes you feel like family. This enhances the homestay experience and gives a small insight into life in a Newari household.

An amazing hostel, a place to retreat from the chaos of the city and just chill. Good kitchen with good food, but most of all the staff was incredible. So very friendly and helpful! They also helped me with getting my phone which I lost back and sending it to my home country.

We came to Kathmandu by night bus and checking in early in the morning was not an issue at all. Very nice and helpful family. We got the room on the rooftop which is very beautiful. The bathroom seemed pretty new.

"Perfect Relaxing Retreat!" I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this bed and breakfast! The serene location and spotless property made for a perfect getaway. The staff were exceptionally friendly and always willing to assist. The adorable dog on-site added an extra touch of charm. Breakfast was excellent, offering a wide array of tasty options every morning. Highly recommend for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience!

A very easy location. Room was not large, but big enough for 2 people and luggage,vand quite comfortable. Appreciated the Filtered water available to fill up your bottles. There were a number of nice sitting areas including garden and balcony. Owners kindly looked after our bags while we went off trekking. Would recommend Fresco Retreat for sure.
