The pub and whisky selection is amazing as were the whisky enthusiast guests. The food and variety at the restaurant were equally superb.

The Machrie is located less than 6 km from Port Ellen and 11 km from Bowmore. Such an amazing location with awesome views, and really friendly and helpful staff. Lots of lovely places to relax and appreciate the views, with a walk to the beach a must. The food was delicious, and so easy to explore the island from here. We loved our stay here!

The holiday home includes 3 bedrooms, a living room, and 1 bathroom with a walk-in shower. Towels and bed linen are available in the holiday home. There is also a seating area and a fireplace. Overall, the cottage was a win. We booked it to stay with friends and their family and while we all had to share the one bathroom, once we figured out who was sleeping where, it was fine. The cottage is close to Port Ellen, though we did drive into town it is walkable. We also walked to the singing sand beach and square lighthouse. The host was super helpful, communicated via email and WhatsApp, and they even responded to inquiries/messages after we checked out.
