Despite its central location it is very quiet, in a typical Dalmatian old stone house, surrounded by other stone houses, in between narrow streets and secret passages taking you in all directions (after two days you'll know them all ;-)). Thick stone walls isolate you well from noise and heat. The amount of light and the pleasant mix of distant people's chatter and church bells, one can dosage simply by the windows and window blinds. Korcula town is (still) a secret gem of the South Dalmatia.

Lumbarda is beautiful little haven on gorgeous Korcula and this apartment is in such a wonderful location just a short minute stroll from the sea. Besna is an excellent host, very thoughtful and helpful. Helped us out with some food supplies when we were unable to get to shops/restaurants in a thunderstorm. Balcony view from our apartment was fantastic. Apartment itself is very comfortable and roomy. Pool area is lovely, wish we could have stayed for longer.

Situated just a short walk from the centre of Korčula, Marko Polo Maradiso Hotel by Aminess features an air-conditioned à-la-carte restaurant, a cafe and an on-site souvenir shop. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was quite good, with a nice variety to choose from. The location is very convenient — within walking distance to the Old Town and also easy to drive out to explore the beaches on the island. The pool was fine, and I really appreciated the welcome drinks, which we could choose freely with no conditions. As a pleasant surprise, the staff kindly waived the parking fee at checkout. :)
