The host, Sudzuki-san, is kind, hardworking, very helpful, and always goes the extra mile to accommodate any of your requests. My stay was completely seamless, and all my needs were met. There is a supermarket near the hotel with a variety of cooked food, coffee, snacks, drinks, and everything else you might need during your hotel stay. Tsuru is beautiful and has many great, affordable restaurants. I highly recommend Sorayado for a quiet stay in the Japanese mountains with easy access to Tokyo's JR line.

Staff spoke some English and were super friendly. They provided parking at the cafe across the street when I told them I was renting a scooter. You can use the kitchen to store food in the fridge and prepare meals - cutlery and pots/pans are included. The hostel is a 30 minute bus ride from Ryotsu Port and is walking distance to a supermarket and the beach.

Sauna/onsen was definitely a highlight, along with the ready-to-go BBQ set (extra cost). Would love to come again!
