The bedroom was spacious, part of a larger house. We were the only guests and had use of all the facilities- being able to wash and dry clothes overnight was very useful. The owner of the house was exceptionally helpful - she drove us around and we took her to dinner in the evening and she took us to her favorite bar. It was fun to have our own guide and interesting to talk to her about the area. She also drove us to the station the next morning. Definitely a cultural experience!

The Naramachi Villa Kamunabi is a traditional 'machiya' [townhouse] in a quiet neighborhood just south of the main commercial/tourist area in Nara. The villa has recently been remodelled with exceptional taste and functionality: every detail has been carefully thought out in a beautiful blend of tradition and modern convenience. There were 6 of us, and we had plenty of room. We loved the 2-story layout, with a large tatami room, a cozy living room, kitchen, toilet, and bath on the first floor, and a huge upstairs with two beds, a desk, and a large tatami area. We slept on 3 very comfortable futon on the first floor for those of us over 60 (!), with the younger family members upstairs. The kitchen was well-equipped (with an induction range, no less), and the bath exceptional. There were separate heating/cooling units in the three main areas, which allowed us to adjust temperatures as needed. A perfect place for a family vacation or a group of friends to stay.

The guesthouse was surrounded by forested mountains and only the peaceful sounds of nature. The breakfast was the most memorable meal I have had in Japan. I loved all the food, especially being invited to join the hosts to eat dinner with them. It was a pleasure to be able to see the working farm with goats, chickens and an adorable cat. I loved learning about the plant-dying methods using local leaves and the couple's deep knowledge about this art. It would be nice to return one day.

Staff was extremely kind and attentive, we felt like we were in a japanese house. The woods surrounding the house were really beautiful, and food was really good - ideal for anyone wanting to escape and rest in a quiet area

Having an elevator and a parking spot was convenient for our group especially our elderly. The host was quick in responding to our messages prior and during our stay, she also prepared some goodies for us as breakfast.

Minshuku Kawarabi-so heeft accommodatie in Nosegawa. De ryokan met 2 sterren heeft kamers met airconditioning en een gedeelde badkamer. De units bij de ryokan hebben een waterkoker. The owner couple was lovely and gave a lot help of going to Onsen/hiking point. And it is possible to mail luggage from there.

THE KAKU Exclusive suite & Residence bevindt zich in Nara, op 17 minuten lopen van station Nara, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. Everything! The location was amazing! The gentleman who helped us was so kind and helpful and accommodating!! The space was huge!!!! Traditional elements everywhere in the home, skinny stairs though! We've been in many hotels and houses in Japan these past two weeks and this was by far the best one! Highly highly highly recommend!
