We arrived at Kawazu station and Kenji (?) was there to meet us. When we arrived at the property he took our bags up for us and explained all we needed to know. I think we had an upgrade because the room seemed bigger than the one I booked. The room hadn’t been made up yet as we arrived well before check in. We decided to go and do the 7 waterfalls walk and our host was so kind to drive us there. He explained how to get back on the bus and how much it would be. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We ended the afternoon by using the hot tub which was great. Bathroom and toilets were spotless. Outside the rooms there is boiling water, coffee making facilities, microwave and a wee stove and sink. There is also a sink for washing your face and cleaning your teeth. Be aware there is nowhere to eat close to the hotel. We were aware of this and brought food in with us. We found a tiny basic bakery just down the road and we bought a couple of flapjack type things for breakfast. This property is such good value and our host was kind and friendly. We have been in Japan for a month and this is one of our best stays. Loved it and would certainly recommend. Excellent value.

The guest bath is using mineral water and felt super relaxing to take. The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated, as well as the rest of the Guesthouse. The absolute highlight was breakfast - in my wildest dreams I had not expected an afternoon-tea set setup for it in the morning. It was delicious, plentiful and had freshly baked raisin scone that made my heart jump with joy. It was the best. Also the "instabae level" of presentation was amazing. ✨️ Additionally, thank you Reiko-san for taking your time to drive me around not once, but twice. Our conversations were the biggest highlight of my visit. I will for sure come again~☆
