For Nepali standards, it is really good! The location is excellent—right in the heart of Thamel, close to everything you might need: shops, restaurants, cafés, and travel agencies. The owner is exceptionally helpful and accommodating. I was allowed both a late check-in and an early check-in, which made my stay so much more comfortable. Another big advantage is the possibility to store your luggage for a day or even for several weeks if you are going trekking and don’t want to carry everything with you. The rooms are quite clean, the showers are wonderfully hot, and overall it’s a very good value for the price, with included breakfast. I will come back.

This is a house of a local family, so it’s a best way to stay here and get the most of local life. I spent a whole week here for the Nepali new year and had several Newari dinner meals with the host’s family (include a new year feast). I learned to properly eat with my hand. And I appreciate they changed the food every day a bit when I said I like to try more kinds of local food. The rooptop is the best place to have a full view of the Dubar Square and valley, I really enjoyed to stay up there every morning and night, so peaceful and chill. During the festival, the host provided all the infos about when and where to see the celebrations and even show me around, tell stories about Bhaktapur and the festival. It’s the place I would like to come back one day.

Shower is very hot but let it run for a few minutes first as it’s cold initially.
