My flight was delayed, and I arrived very late at night, around 2:30 a.m. Kenneth waited for me and made sure everything was ready. In the morning, he gave me great tips about transportation and the area. Excellent service and a warm welcome. Highly recommend!

We had realy good time there. Thank you Olga. It was calm and cozy area. Room was cool for one night sleep to relax after long flight. Olga was awesome and helpfull..she help us with everything and we can cept our luggage there after check out. And it was realy helpful for us.

Just coming back to give another review following our second stay at Casa Cafetal following our arrival at SJO and having stayed for two further nights at the end of our trip in Costa Rica. Everything was perfect as before. We had a rental car on our final day and were able to easily park into the gated parking space provided. We used the washing machine/dryer to wash our clothes - maybe some basic instructions to start might help - but it was quite straightforward after working out how to use it. All the cooking facilities were great and it's very convenient to get some groceries at Fresh Market over the road from the house. Once again, the host Manuel was excellent. Make sure to ask him for some tips on local customs, driving and places to visit before your trip as it is so helpful!

The staff here were really friendly and very helpful. I was made to feel eally welcome and more like being in a family rather than staying at a hostel. very good value for money and very accommodating with dropping me to the airport. This was my second stay as they were so great on the way into Costa Rica.

The hosts were very welcoming and attentive throughout our time there. The location is perfect for travelers seeking proximity to the airport and the host gave us a ride to the airport. Also close to the large shopping center of Alajuela and the city center. A first contact to hummingbirds is possible in the small garden.

The hotel was centrally located and close the airport. If you want to walk around downtown Alajuela, the location is great. It's in the middle of the city and noise is to be expected. However, when I woke up shortly after midnight on a Saturday it was quiet. However, by 5 a.m. you could hear cars tearing down the street.

Perfect place to stay if you don't need or want to go into San Jose after arriving. It's just a 15 minute drive or so from the airport, but you already feel you're in the Costa Rican jungle thanks to the nice garden they have. Staff is super friendly accomodating and easy-going. Rooms are good, clean, nice view over the green garden. Good communication with the hotel before our stay regarding payment (my fault!) which was sorted super quick and without issues.

Great location in the heart of downtown Alajuela. Friendly staff, albeit slow check-in process. That said, a great spot for an overnight before or after a flight. Certainly, one of the best options in Alajuela (going on 14 years of living in Costa Rica and flying in/out of SJO regularly) that isn't absurdly priced like a $200 Holiday Inn. Included transport to the airport and breakfast are a huge bonus for this price!

Really great location from the airport, shuttle bus to get to it was right outside the arrivals hall. Was very clean, good shower, good WiFi and great breakfast. We only booked it as we got in on a late flight and so needed somewhere to sleep and it was perfect for that.

The host is super nice and welcoming, she cooks delicious homemade breakfast, everything is super clean and confortable, and this place is in the centre of the city and 10 min away from the airport with a taxi ! I recommend this hostel to start or finish your trip in the most perfect conditions :)
