This is one of the most authentic and beautiful places in all the Yasawa Islands. Vilise and his father took care of us as if we were family. Vilise is a good cook, my girlfriend is celiac and he really took care that everything was perfect for her. They also make delicious ice creams with local fruit from the island. It is a very un-touristy area and they are very nice people. We spent three days there of disconnection and absolute relaxation, without a doubt the most authentic experience with local people you can have in Fiji. We hope to be back soon!

Oarsman’s Bay Lodge absolutely exceeded our expectations - we spent a fantastic week in this remote paradise on Nacula island! I’ve loved everything about it: the remote & quiet island feel it evokes & its location (set in its own bay and stunning coral reef, with only one neighbouring resort), the lovely staff and their amazing hospitality, the great bures (bungalows) by the sea, their lovely decor and the attention to detail throughout the little resort (in the common & dining area), and most of all, that it feels like a small private community/ homestay, interacting with the (mostly younger) guest in the greatly organised (free or paid) activities like reef snorkelling or the trip to the nearby caves - we’ve certainly made new friends :) Plus, I loved that you can snorkel the house reef at high tide (and borrow equipment free of charge), at your own pace, or SUPs and canoes - all greatly recommended activities!! The meals (quality and chefs‘ creativity) were unmatched. There’s a good breakfast selection (Western style and local - best are the fresh tropical fruits & vegetables!), great lunch, and selection between a fish or chicken dish for dinner - especially the freshly caught red snapper and local yam were amazing. Oh and afternoon tea (and daily changing, fresh cakes) are yummy and not to miss after a snorkel or swim! I also truly like that Oarsman’s is unpretentious and unfussy, and in a non-luxurious way providing you with everything and more than you need (picture-perfect settings such as white sand, palm trees, amazing sea and reef, lovely fresh flowers everywhere, great food, and wifi limited to the lobby to truly be off the grid), making for a relaxed, and thanks to the small size, family-like atmosphere that truly helped to unwind and forget about the world for a week! The entire Oarsman’s team made this one of - if not the - best vacations of my life, and deserves a big vinaka vakalevu for a truly memorable stay! <3

It was an amazing week, the atmosphere here is literally the best. The place is run by a lovely family, all the kids had there school holiday this week so they were all helping. The facilities are basic but u don’t need much more when u are staying in a place like this. It’s very social as well, u will have the breakfast, lunch and dinner with all the other guest. I will stay here again if I go to Fiji.

Very beautiful place and bures! Showers with warm water. Free kajaks in very good condition. Food very good! Breakfast is a buffet. We really appreciate the fact that unlike most locations on the Yasawa the mealplan in Nabua Lodge is not compulsary. 20fjd per meal, just pay what you have. Free pickup from Yasawa Flyer.

It was in a beautiful location, I was in a dorm alone (mainly because there was not a door handle or lock on the bathroom door so it wouldn’t stay closed and I questioned this) It was quiet, the food was good.

The most beautiful location, absolutely worth the long boat ride to get there. Clear blue water and clean sandy beaches with incredible coral reef accessible from the beach. We stayed in the lodge which was reasonably sized although not much room for a suitcase to open and had a ceiling fan which was much needed! Really great activities on offer which we got involved with, loved the cave trip and the village tour!! Staff all very friendly and welcoming.

This was the most unbelievable place to stay if you want complete calm & serenity. It is totally removed from the outside world & is an oasis of calm & peace. The staff are amazing & most of them are islanders who are totally invested in Oarsman Bay & the experience that they want their guests to have. The whole ethos behind Oarsman Bay is wonderful & how it helps & supports the wider community of the island. Fantastic snorkeling, amazing food, wonderful staff.
