Great location on the edge of the lagoon; numerous bars and restaurants a short walk away; hotel decoration was fresh and contemporary, though the building retains its early twentieth-century charm. Breakfast was great - lots of choice, all of it of a good quality. The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. Chioggia is like a miniature version of Venice - canals, views of the lagoon, history, charm; but also much less busy and much less expensive. It's a great place for a quiet break by the water.

Staying at 1823 was one of the highlights of our visit to Chioggia. The room is charming, clean and neatly furnished. The independent entrance gave us the privacy we wanted and the manager of great help. He gave us full directions to a chip parking lot and was quick to respond to any of our inquiries. We had a great time in Chioggia and definitely recommend 1823 place. G
