The interior of the house was well kept and beautiful. The breakfast provided was delicious and just what we needed to start the day. Our Japanese was very limited so having the owner have great English was also very nice. Having stayed on tatami mats elsewhere throughout our trip it was also nice to be provided some extra padding as an option as I tend not to be super comfortable on regular ones. Overall it would have been nice to stay longer but the time we had with Elia was great!

Just returned from a two night stay in Nunoya Ryokan and can’t recommend it highly enough. The ryokan is in an excellent location, just steps away from restaurants, bakeries, a convenience store and shops. We loved our stay here and would definitely return.

The owner was so friendly, he also welcomed us with a Spanish translator since we reserved as Mexicans. Made us feel so welcoming. The place also has instructions for everything so if you don't know how to use a Japanese heating table, for example, you can try it without trouble. Had coffee, coffee beans, dishes and pans for cooking, coffee machine, etc. The place is of shared stay but since we rented all the space for our group of 8 they let us have everything like an Airbnb.

Awsome apartment with the most friendly staff we have ever met! the apartment was big and clean, very comfortable and big bathroom. It was in a great location to explore the area. we like that the coffee shop was really next to us, and we could enjoy fresh coffee and juice every morning 😊 There are no stairs outside and inside the apartment, so it was very accessible with big luggage. Definitely would like to come again!

Shotaro the owner was very welcoming and fun to talk to. Hostel had a good vibe, cute lower level with kitchen and traditional japanese style sitting room with tatami floors and low tables. It encouraged travelers to mingle and I made friends there and then went out to dinner with them! Bunk bed in dorm was comfy.

Such a lovely, cosy hostel with ample common area to chat with other travellers. They have a little bar area and the hostel owner was so nice to also introduce travellers to each other, it was so nice meeting and talking to everyone, including the friendly staff. I also used the common area to do some quiet work in the morning while they cleaned - they didn't seem to mind, though they had to clean, which was really sweet of them.

The staff was warm and always eager to help. The room and facilities were clean and cozy too. Perfect place to come back to after a full day of hiking/sightseeing. The location was really convenient too, just a 10-15 min walk from the station and very near major tourist attractions. There's also a lounge to chill in, kitchen for cooking meals and laundry (washing + drying) can be done for 500 yen!

The hostel is really close to the Castle and it has a perfect location, not far from the Matsumoto Station neither from the main spot/café. It clean and tidy, no loud noises and the staff is really welcoming and helpful.

Fantastic location. Right next to the railway station and opposite the main bus stand. Since my main focus was on getting to Kamikochi and the Alps everyday, this served my purpose perfectly well. The rooms were spotless and excellent and the staff were super friendly.

Great central location on a nice street. Modern style and friendly staff. They let us leave bags after check out so we could explore Matsumoto more. Kitchen seemed to have everything you need and it was all clean and comfortable.

Great place to stay in Matsumoto! The facilities were clean, and the staff helpful. The bed itself was comfortable. The location could not have been better, as it was only a 5-10min walk from the Matsumoto castle. This makes it easier to go there for a stroll at night (tip: the castle looks amazing when it's lit up at night).

Good bed, great onsen. Rooms were somewhat spacious in relation to the price. Convenient location but with infrequent bus. It's walkable from Matsumoto station and is very close to the city centre. Most people wanting to explore the city will like this place.

We booked the entire house for a family of 3 and the place is huge! Way bigger than we needed but great fun place to stay in. Nice funky vibe. The location proved perfect for an early morning photo shoot at Crow Castle (a minute’s stroll away) before it opened and the crowds descend!

The house was really cute and the beds and mattresses were all very comfortable. We used the washing machine and hung out clothes up on the little balcony and it all worked out really well! Tons of amenities available and the staff was very friendly and polite as usual. Location was good - walking distance to historic shopping streets and the castle, as well as downtown Matsumoto and tons of great restaurants nearby. Free parking was a bonus and a relief!

Amazing hostel housed in building with a very traditional look, at a great location near the city centre. Bed was spacious and very comfy, toilets and bathrooms were always available and clean. Staff was very kind and helpful to point to good restaurants, bathhouses and things to see in the area. I also loved being able to take a bike to explore the area.
