Probably one of the best places we have ever stayed at in Japan! A 130 year old house redone with great attention to detail. Extremely comfortable. Away from the hustle and bustle of cities and towns. Would have liked to stay longer!

Absolutely incredible, beautiful area. Comfortable futons. Beautiful interior design. Big, spacious house. The gentleman who checked us in was very helpful and gave us lots of advice on what to do and where to go. We had an absolutely incredible stay.

I really enjoyed my stay. Daisuke is a very nice, accommodating host. Cozy, traditional guesthouse. Nice talks and lot of recommendations for your trip. I would like to stay here again when coming back to Kochi Prefecture.

Location is great, right next to the beautiful bridge. Host Kenji is very helpful and friendly. The house interior is beautiful and well appointed.

The host-Mr Kenji San was great us in person when we arrived. The house is in a special location and quiet surrounding. You probly need to drive to get there. Great Japanese original style house. One thing though, the toilet space is super small but the bathroom is super spacious. Great kitchen facility with style.

When someone looks for a special place to stay, this could be a good option; well equipped, beautifully renovated Traditional style house in a lovely quiet village. Kenji, the host, is friendly and helpful. We would like to stay longer!

We stayed in the separate guest house which was nice and private. The location of the accommodation is very secluded and peaceful. The communal kitchen is well equipped and allowed us to prepare our own meals. Our host Kenji was very helpful.

Kenji is a really great guy and has impeccable taste! He was so friendly and gave us good tips on the area. He was very relaxed and works super hard to keep the space calm and clean for his guests. The location is also magical with the sounds of nature all around and a short walk to the river. Its a really special place.

Amazing guesthouse! Kenji is the most hospitable, fun and friendly host and will do anything to help your stay. The location is a 2 min walk to the Shimanto River and one of the submersible bridges - so picturesque and quiet. You can also rent bikes from Kenji and roam the riverside. Kitchen and other facilities are great too inside this traditional building. Will definitely return back to Shimanto Riverside Hideaway!
