Very nice cabin, directly next to the water! good temperature due to the wind from the lake. Very Kind owner. There were good restaurants in the area and a cozy vibe. Even though it was a cabin with open window (no glass) we actually only saw a few small insects inside if any! It was clean and nice. Of course you come here for a different experience than a 5-star hotel, and that you get! We can really recommend it!!! It’s very special to stay here😃 Everything was as it should be and we would come again!

The guesthouse was located in a peaceful environment in the jungle. We could spot some wildlife very nearby. The views from the rooms are towards the gorgeous Concepcion volcano. The room was spacious, clean, modern and comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay here.

The place is really nice and we loved to stay there! the rooms are basic but totally fine and the owner even changed the towels and bed sheets after two nights. She is really caring and helpful. She organised a tour guide for us for the volcano hike and helped us to rent a motorbike. She also offers laundry and breakfast and i can really recommend getting breakfast there! It’s 130 cordobas and you get something freshly prepared from her, every morning something different, everything was delicious and especially the different fresh juices! It’s a really peaceful place in a quiet neighborhood and we would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in the room with the private bathroom and it was just perfect. The shower even had hot water (not that you need it with the heat) and the room was really clean and made us feel at home. The hostel is surrounded by nature and they even offer filtered water which is really practical because buying countless plastic bottles was starting to annoy us. They also offer tours to the volcano, scooter rents and other activities for a very fair price. The breakfast is delicious as well, prepared fresh and with love. The owners were super friendly too. They told us what we could do in Ometepe giving their personal opinion on different activities without being pushy or trying to sell us any tours at all. We really loved our stay at Urraca Loca!

We loved how welcoming the owners were, the location, and the design of the cabana. Junior was so helpful and kind, and made sure we had everything we needed. He organised a taxi to transport us back to the ferry after our stay, which made our trip so much easier! The design of the cabana is amazing, you’re right in the middle of nature but still have all the comforts you need. Very close to some great restaurants as well. Highly recommend!

The location is incredible! You’re in the jungle with so much wildlife around you! The cabins were so cool high up and they had everything you need. Elias, one of the staff was amazing and always chatted to us about our days, what we got up to and any recommendations he had. We hired an atv which they handled for us, everything was just taken care of, could t recommend staying here more! It’s on the side of the island too that everything isn’t too far if you got transport (you need to hire something, a bike, scooter or atv). Also Loki and Lola the German Shepard’s are amazing and super friendly , also the property has pigs and who doesn’t love pigs!

The breakfast and dinner menu is absolutely great and had a unique variety of local Nicaraguan and Western dishes. The pool and the cabins are very quiet and offer amazing views of Conception Volcano and sunsets. Very close to the lodge, it is possible to start a hike to the top of Maderas volcano.

Great place to stay in Balgue! Very welcoming and friendly host, clean rooms, good quality mosquito nets around the comfy beds (needed as the room isn’t completely enclosed), nice area to hang out with hammocks, the wifi works well, good location, and you have access to the kitchen. Breakfast is also available for a small extra cost (120 cordobas per person).

Beautiful location overlooking the lake, I decided to treat myself to the 6 bed dorm right on the lake with an ensuite and I did not regret it. Stunning view and nice brand new room and facilities. The staff were really lovely at the cafe and I enjoyed relaxing on the decking on the lake.

Perfect location on Ometepe. Staff are all a family and all lovely to chat to. Room very basic but as expected for the price. Easy to organise scooter rental with them, and also lovely breakfast in the morning for a small extra cost. Beautiful chill out areas with hammocks etc

Great location with a fantastic view and wonderful sounds of nature all around. It is like a glamping experience. The rooms are very spacious and the outdoor showers nice. It was great to have a pool to swim in, although it is not as big as it looks like in the pictures. Great food and cocktails too! The team was great and made sure we had the best of times here. They were very helpful and helped us organize transportation from Managua airport to Ometepe which was excellent. They also make their own honey which was delicious!

Odelba was such a sweet and helpful host. She and her family run this hostel with so much care. They are available for any questions. Also, if you’re a Spanish learner, this is a great place to stay and practice.

Very comfortable and homely room, nicely decorated with super comfy bed and hot water (a nice treat). Communal areas are also nice, good central Balgue location. Staff were lovely and the breakfast was really good - reasonably priced with nice homemade elements. Didn’t use the kitchen so can’t comment on it!

Our cabin apartment was so gorgeous! Very spacious for the two of us, a really comfy bed with mosquito net, a dining table with a view to the sea and a perfect little kitchen so we could make our own food. Also a lovely, clean bathroom. Couldn’t recommend this place enough! It’s also in a great location in Balgue, a walk away from some great restaurants and scooter hires

Absolutely loved the location- beautiful views of the volcanoes and so peaceful. People were so helpful there couldn’t do enough for you. We stayed here twice as we enjoyed it so much.

Very special location, nice glass house with amazing views. It was all very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We didn’t have much interaction with the staff. All the water on the property is drinkable!

This hostel was amazing! It brought healthy living & eating with that touch of conscious & spiritual community (singing circle) vibe. What an incredible place to stay. I will definitely come back to stay here when I come back to Ometepe. The staff, food, and cacao were incredible!

We loved this hostel. Truly familiar, intimate place with a beautiful garden, and nicely arranged and decorated spaces. The owner couple is lovely and helpful, it’s probably one of the best places to stay on the whole island. Great breakfast and coffee too.
