Amazing hotel with rustic charm and historic character, perfect for photography. The food is delicious, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially Yang—big thanks to him for his excellent service and warm smile. The property is in a vineyard and most rooms oversee a nice grape + tree + lake view. I stayed at Aoraki suite which is very spacious, clean and comfortable. There is daily complimentary cheese board - minibar, chips and a bottle of rose are also complimentary. I tried the “Trust the Chef” dinner at the estate which is very good. Quality food plus reasonably priced wine pairing / wine menu. Breakfast was good - continental plus a la carte. Last but not least, at the retreat suite there is a very nice lobby, infinity pool and hot tub.

Stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time. Only 15 minutes drive to shopping center (Frankton), 20 minutes to queenstown. Room was perfect. Breakfast was perfect. There are other acitivites available like wine taste and outside hot tub. Queenstown was too crowded in my opinion but staying here you can enjoy the peaceful view of countryside while still have convenience to everything you need for your holiday. Great value for money. Will definitely recommend.

This is an amazing place to stay. Great rooms, gorgeous garden, wonderful open fires, wonderful meals. I didn’t want to leave. Great facilities for families with children. There is nothing not to like.

The views and location were spectacular. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of variety. They used good quality fresh produce for breakfasts. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We felt relaxed and at home.

Clean and warm room. We loved the old-charms and touches of the property. It was an amazing place to stay with our toddler as the onsite playground was so fun and the restaurant had great food for both adults and children.

What's to say... The Cardrona hotel is fairly iconic. Rooms were great. Excellent shower. Good atmosphere in the bar and dining. Nice meals. Open fires. Location is what it is...... not near anything but you stay here because of that.

The hotel is so quaint, it looks like it is from an old Hollywood film set. Well appointed rooms with really comfortable bed. Hotel restaurant, bar and plenty of outside seating. Great choice of food on the bar menu. The location is stunning.

The location is awesome, I have stayed twice now and would definitely visit again in the future. The hospitality was fantastic, we felt very welcome and looked after. We would recommend it to anyone who wanted a real taste of New Zealand. One beautiful, iconic establishment that that the South Island offers.

Amazing bar and pub garden in the middle of nowhere. Hotel Rooms were very comfortable. The isolated location was a benefit to us on our last night in NZ. Friendly staff who were really helpful.
