Staying at this small hotel was an absolute delight. It may be modest in size, but the warmth and care of the staff make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The owner welcomed us warmly and gave us a very interesting tour of his museum, telling us a lot about the history of the village and Omani culture. He is dedicated to preserving and restoring his village and has found a great way of doing so. The hotel is in a beautifully restored old Omani house, complete with narrow stone staircases, carved doors, thick walls, uneven floors, is furnished with traditional rugs and chests, and full of beautiful old items. The room is comfortable, complete with a good-sized fridge, AC, wifi.... A delicious buffet dinner with traditional dishes was served in the evening at the terrace while a more basic packed breakfast (because of ramadan) was served the following morning in the room. We had a great stay! Just a piece of advice: if you try to go to the wadi/natural pool where you can swim, ask for very detailed instructions first. We were told how to go there, and it sounded straightforward enough (maybe we are just good at getting lost though), but despite following the instructions (at least we thought we did) we couldn't find the pool. We walked for at least an hour, first following the footpath signs, then the canal, but somehow we must have misunderstood something or missed something along the way, because we never found the place were to swim. We had a beautiful morning hike though, through spectacular mountain landscapes and green oases, so it was still a very worthwhile hike.

The apartment was extremely clean, wide, modern and cozy! Comfortable bed, equipped with air conditioning, plates, coffee , kettle, microwave and small refrigerator. The view is amazing especially at night because the city seen from above is a ‘carpet of lights’ The owner, super kind and friendly , prepared for us a Omani dinner (chicken, rice, bread, veg, hummus and hot Omani tea) and also gave us tips for the hiking to jabel shams! It’s been open since 2 months ! Please, give him a try , it’s so worth it. 10 / 15 min by Walk from the village , 2 by car Thank you!!!

This place ticked all the boxes for a great family getaway. The location was perfect, offering a stunning view that we never got tired of. Fast and stable internet made staying connected easy, and the generous breakfast spread was a real treat every morning. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the master bedroom had wonderfully comfortable beds. The kids absolutely loved the playroom, and the pool was a hit with the whole family. Small tip for the host: adding a floor squeegee in the bathroom would help keep the floor dry. Other than that, everything was spot on!
