A perfect stay in a beautiful Samosir Island! Dimmer is a very kind and attentive host who cares a lot for the wellbeing of his guests. The rooms are impeccably clean. Also, The location in Tuktuk is great with nice restaurants around. Also, the hot showers are a great bonus! I would definitely stay at Matraville again anytime.

The room was clean, new and with lots of space. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The room had a nice big window with a lot of light, but good curtains to allow us to sleep in darkness in the morning. The facilities were new and the toilet had shampoo and soap included. The toilet was also very spacious. The owner, Mr. Bloom, was exceptionally nice. Collected and dropped us at the harbour, and was very kind to pick us from a village nearby when we didn't had transportation.

Tiolina is an amazing host who goes out of her way to welcome you into her home and to ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. There is a cafe and museum on site and lovely views all around the property. This has easily been my favourite place to stay after travelling through Java and Sumatra. If you’ve always wanted to stay with royalty (Tiolina is the old king’s daughter in law) you can’t go past Ruma Kaca.

Lovely new home with everything there. The beds were so comfortable. Great area to stay with a fantastic view.

If you’re visiting TukTuk then you MUST stay here! The staff were so friendly and gave us recommendations for the island. We rented a scooter off them also which was super easy. One morning they evening brought breakfast down to our room for us so we could enjoy the view of the lake, it was lovely! Any questions we had about the local area or transportation back to Medan they were very helpful 😊 would recommend this place to anybody, perfect location also! Little bonus, our room had a bed in the annex area and it was so nice to chill there for sunset!!

This Homestay is about 5 minutes walk from the ferry port. I had a pretty heavy suitcase with me and there was no way I could carry it on the uneven road and steep uphill. The owner, Marin, came with her scooter and picked up the suitcase right away. Upon the check-out was the same. Marin and Johanna were always available and very friendly. The view from our room was facing the lake and the beautifully maintained garden.
