The recently renovated holiday home comes with 1 separate bedroom, 1 bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area and fridge, and a living room with a flat-screen TV. There is also a seating area and a fireplace. I had a perfect trip in Toraja, and it mostly owes to the perfect hosts. They prepared everything with care, showed me the good restaurants, helped me planning the trip, and even took me to a funeral, where I met their bigger family who are all great people. The bed was comfy, and sleeping under the roof hearing the rain was soothing (I have phobia of rain but this time I was calm). The little place is well decorated, fits the vibe of the hosts couple. The moment I met them I knew I got to get a good trip, that’s how they made me feel. I arrived early and left late, but they always welcomed me and had me a place to rest.

It’s an excellent place to stay with our young family. It was in the middle of the city which make it easy to travel around town.

The villa features an outdoor fireplace and a 24-hour front desk. The guest house was a wonderful gem in the middle of Rantepao, conveniently located near all the Tana Toraja points of interest. I had a traditional Torajan home all to myself and it felt so special. The place was extremely clean, had all I needed. It is part of a typical Torajan family's compound. Aldi, the host went out of his way to help and assist me with everything. He even waited for us until late at night (and I felt horrible about it, because it was like 1.30 AM when I arrived), as I was driving from Makasar and arrived later than expected. He organized a 2 day tour with Mr. Ino (also recommended), who showed me around the main sights at VERY reasonable cost. The place was spotless, comfortable, and felt like I was in a documentary. Absolutely recommended. As for Tana Toraja.... it is a unique corner of our world. Make sure you spend at least 2 days there to see everything. Ask for Ino's services.

I would recommend this quaint, traditional and secluded homestay to anyone. The simple kindness, the all-encompassing scenery and the generous hosts. It is basic, but that's makes it all the more beautiful. Also, John will gladly take you around with a smile upon his face, and even take you to a funeral if you are lucky. It was one of my favourite experiences of my trip!

The resort also offers free WiFi as well as a paid airport shuttle service. Absolutely fantastic place – easily one of the highest standards you’ll find on Sulawesi. Yes, the price is on the higher end, but you get what you pay for: everything works seamlessly, the service is outstanding, and the staff are genuinely exceptional. They’re also great at arranging local boatmen for custom-made snorkeling trips and excursions to nearby islands – all at very reasonable prices. The beach is well-maintained and largely free of plastic, great for swimming and spotting the occasional fish. For the more impressive snorkeling, you’ll need to go a bit farther out – the easiest way is to hire a local boat that picks you up directly from the shore. We stayed in the suite, which is enormous and comes with two incredible private terraces. Nice views. The only thing missing? A shared swimming pool would make it perfect. Only two rooms have a private pool - not the suite.

Daud and his daughter are amazing. Without Daud's tips and help my stay in Rantepao wouldn't have been so perfect. The breakfast is very nice, the rooms spacious, clean and with a lot of light, the wifi good, drinking water available all day. Daud didn't pressure me for tours, and offered options and information and was always available. I really felt home at Riana's!

This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Fort Somba Opu is 45 km away and Gowa Discovery Park is 45 km from the homestay. The room is basic, but the bed is very comfortable and the family we stayed with is so lovely, that we rate this as one of the best stays we had during our trip in Indonesia. Just sitting on the terrace and watching the villagers is a very nice experience. I would definitely recommend this stay to anybody who wants to taste the local life for a few nights.
