Owner, Tyson welcomed me explained everything needed. A young lady working at the cafe (Diza, sorry if I mistaken the name)made me one of the best meals in Indonesia I’ve ever tried. Sweet dog and cat were also welcoming and slept under my room’s door at night.The room was simple but very clean with beautiful garden setting. The location is a little bit out of town, but walkable and very quiet. Tyson also organized a jungle trek for me and that was also very good. We saw 8 orangutans)

Rooms are equipped with a balcony with garden views and free WiFi. The bungalow was great. Clean, lots of room and the location is close to Olala restaurant and the village itself. Robi the manager is very helpful and always checking to make sure all is good. Staff were friendly. The snorkelling right of the dock (which is Olala’s but they were fine with Santi using) was fantastic most days. Definitely would return here

There is free private parking and the property provides paid airport shuttle service. We had a great two night stay! The room was spacious and the AC worked great. The staff were so kind and helpful. The food was delicious (we liked the curry best) and very reasonably priced. We also signed up for a one day tour with them and we had a great day with 5 orangutan sightings led by our guides Jojo and Aldi. One evening some local guys came by to hang out and play some music. It was great singing along and getting to know the people of Bukit Lawang! It was also great that this didn’t go on late into the night and we still went to bed at a very reasonable time.

There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. If I could give a higher score than 10 I would! This place is in an unbelievable location, right on the edge of the national park. 3 days I was there I saw orangutans on the property and lots of other monkeys in the trees outside my balcony. Yes, it is a steep climb to get here but if you are doing a jungle trek you will need to walk up past the property to get to the national park anyway. If you arrange transport through them they will send someone to help with your bags. The food in the restaurant is amazing and very reasonably priced and there is lots of variety so you don’t even need to leave the property for meals! I got laundry done as well which was a bonus. The staff are super friendly and go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I did the 2D/1N jungle trek with Orangutan Bungalow and it was incredible! The guides were fabulous, the food was wonderful and we saw so much wildlife that it was almost overwhelming at times. Yes there are bugs and geckos around but you are in the jungle so it’s to be expected. If you want sterile accommodation with air conditioning then you will have to pay a lot more than you pay staying here. Don’t stay anywhere else!

The rooftop is quite nice to hang out.

One more thing, I booked a trekking trip to see the orangutans and the guide was really nice and had a great time with him

The bed mattresses are like fluffy marshmallows. The place is secluded but if you need to get anything to eat, the hotel cafe is there for you. The staff are superb, friendly and professional. The place is quiet at night and very relaxing. There are hardly any bugs. I sleep better here than at home!
