The location is fantastic! Right next to a river that you can swim in. View from the balcon of the hills, the river and ricefields. Fantastic to be able to sit on the balcony and eat your breakfast with a great view before going out to explore. The house is great. Small but very well organised and arranged. The beds are good. Nice bathroom. Free parking. Nice supermarked right next door. All was perfect.

If you are planning your trip here, I highly highly recommend you to book it!!! For several reasons, you’ll have to drive past a very narrow bridge which is definitely a really cool experience. The host Kenji is a very nice guy; he’s been very helpful and thoughtful and communicating in English is not a problem at all! Most important of all, the property is super clean and you are allow to use the kitchen too! ( My suggestion: Ask Kenji to help you order sashimi in advance. It’s extremely yummy and of a reasonable price.) You can feel that the host really does love this house and he’s doing his best to make sure you enjoy it as well!! Thank you Kenji!

This guesthouse is worth the climb: located in a beautiful mountainous forest, the sounds of cities and cars are replaced by nature and animals. Takao-san is a wonderful host: he came to our car in the pouring rain with spare umbrellas and upgraded us to the largest room as we were the only guests that night. His family was also very welcoming and sweet. Everything was clean, combining the convivial guesthouse atmosphere to the traditional ryokan room architecture.

I had a good night's rest in this Guest House in Iburi, after a long hiking trek from Shimanto City. The bed was comfortable with plenty of room for my things and the facilities were neat and clean. The shared area had a homely feel to it with free hot drinks provided. Also a bar for Alcohol Drinks. No shops in the immediate area however I believe Dinner and Breakfast can be provided on request (I did not partake). I am doing the Shikoku Henro Pilgrimage and as it turned out, it was the ideal spot from which to visit Temple 38, Kongōfukuji, down the coast to Cape Ashizuri. A long trek there and back the other side to TosaShimuzu (about 15 mins away by bus) was just about doable in a day. By bicycle would definitely be easier/faster as it is relatively flat. The route has stunning Coastal Views and the Temple is impressive. The Guest House owner was friendly and kind and stored my heavy rucksack for the day so that I could travel light. Price was great value too, especially so close after Golden Week.

This is a beautiful and very large accommodation (an entire house), that seems to be taken right out of an interior design magazine! It is clear that the owners and beautifully carefully renovated an old traditional Japanese house. It is a joy to stay here! Night skies are especially beautiful.
