Staff were very friendly and accommodating to our arrival and departure times. Prepared us some freshly baked buns since we were leaving before breakfast would be reasonable. Staff also gave a very nice tour of the building on arrival and answered all of our questions about Matsumoto. Would come back any day and explore the city some more from here! We didn’t get the dinner but it looked delicious from what other guests were eating. The buns were amazing

The whole establishment is tastefully and authentically presented. My room was beautifully fitted out. Dark stained timber and white linen; all kinds of amenities including coffee grinder and green tea equipment. Personal bath is temperature controlled; shower facilities and toilet are excellent. There is also a onsen style bath at the main accommodation block. (There are 3 buildings). Location is around the middle of long heritage restored shopfront street. I elected to include dinner in the tariff. Dinner was 'omakase'/degustation and was delicious. As a solo traveller I sat at the counter (always my favourite place) and loved the interaction with the dedicated staff preparing and serving the courses. I also elected for drinks pairing which was very tasty and also a learning experience. It is listed as four star but it exudes luxury of great simplicity. I travel budget level in most places but am happy to pay more for traditional or special experiences, This is why I rated it a value for money. I also got an excellent 'genius' discount. Very convenient for hiking the Torii pass on the Nakasendo Way,

My friend and I really enjoyed our time here. It’s an incredibly cute guesthouse with a great vibe. The shared kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of utensils to use and enough space to enjoy a cozy meal. There’s even a kotatsu! We also messaged them after booking to ask whether the room was mixed or female-only, as we were a bit concerned. We received a very quick response reassuring us that there was no need to worry and that a female-only room would be prepared for us. The owner is super friendly, and her positive energy is contagious. :) Since it’s located in an onsen town, there are plenty of opportunities to relax after a day of exploring. Το 松本はなれ Matsumoto HANARE - Japanese style private bedroom Guest hause είναι σε Matsumoto, σε απόσταση 1,4 χλμ από το σημείο ενδιαφέροντος Σταθμός Matsumoto και προσφέρει καταλύματα με κήπο, δωρεάν... I loved how nice the house was and the cute decor throughout the house. The room was small, but there was tons of storage! A large closet to fit both of our luggage divided into to areas, so we could each have our own space. There are extra blankets in there too. There is a spacious open closet to put the table and folding chairs at night. The room was really cute and nice! The common spaces were super comfortable with a cozy living room set up and kitchen. We had our own shelf in the refrigerator. I believe there are just three rooms in the house, which makes it feel like a bed and breakfast. The shower rooms are clean. Loved the laundry and dryer option. The hosts are very nice and thorough during the check in to make sure you understand the space and how everything works. Loved the location! Perfectly nestled between the castle and the art museum. Very short walk to the market shopping area.

We were at the two bedroom house and the view, the furnishing and the decorations were breathtaking! Also there's 2.5 baths instead of 2 as advertised. The location is perfect - about 10 minute walk to the restaurants. However what really made our stay so memorable was the service team. They felt like family and were super responsive to every request on WhatsApp. From restaurant and onsen suggestions to helping us book tables. They sent their own car in a snow storm to rescue us from cortina when all taxis cancelled on us. Words can't describe our appreciation and thank you for making our annual family trip so perfect.
