Second time staying at the property - last year for five nights with my sister whilst on a road trip from Wellington to Cambridge. This year with my husband for a week, whilst we are holidaying in the North Island of NZ and I enjoyed it as much as the first time. Sadly my sister could not join us due to work commitments, but she was envious of us being able to go. House is very comfortable and works well for a family; two couples or just one. It has beautiful gardens with lots of flowers, shrubs, trees and bird life. It is quiet, but not far from Taupo. Kitchen has everything you could need and more. Good shower with water pressure, very comfortable beds. Lovely verandah and outdoor sitting area overlooking the gardens with comfortable furniture. The owner, Kuha lives next door and introduced herself with some suggestions for cafes/restaurants and sights, but did not intrude. She clearly enjoys what she does and takes pride in the property and garden. Highly recommended and we will definitely visit again.

The private bathroom includes a hairdryer and free toiletries. Guests receive free Wi-Fi, but need to be aware that due to our rural location, the internet & phone service can be patchy. Wonderful cottage right at the lake. Modern bathroom and comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. Big bonus is the provided BBQ. Next town with a big supermarket is only 8 minutes by car. There you find also a few restaurants (reservation is recommend). Restaurant right next to the cottage is closed at the moment, but that’s alright. Some people said it’s hard to find, but if you are ok driving a little off the main road, and you can read signs you will definitely find it 😉
