The hotel is on the lake. Despite this, the area is not for recreation. We were given a room on a high floor and from the window you could see the beautiful view of the lake. The service was exceptional, wide beds and very comfortable mattresses. Cleaning and changing of towels every day. The breakfast was plentiful. The hotel has several restaurants: Chinese, Japanese, French and also a coffee bar with a large selection of cakes. The only disappointment is that this bar is only open until 6 pm.

Offering an outdoor pool, indoor/outdoor hot spring baths and 6 restaurants and bars, Biwako Hotel is located a 5-minute walk from Keihan Hamaotsu Train Station.

So romantic I wish we could have stayed forever!!! The en-suite private onsen is on the balcony of the room and also the shower so super shy people might have a problem. Everything was perfect tho, it is a precious memory from our trip.

Peaceful and top end of 5 star, better rise by the glass options is my only critique otherwise the wine by the glass was stunning. The spa, the koi carp lake, in fact everything is great about this hotel. Staff are amazing too

Amazing hotel and design. The room was close to perfection with all the comfort. Staff was incredibly helpful and professional.
