The location is absolutely fantastic with stunning mountain views, but the real magic here comes from the owners, Butch and Jo. They are super-friendly and went above and beyond to answer our questions and make us feel welcome. I strongly recommend visiting before they retire to experience this level of hospitality! Also, you simply must eat at their bar; even though it has limited hours, the food is incredible. We had the steak and dessert deal for $30 NZD, which was the best meal we’ve had, and the wine is very reasonably priced. To make the evening even better, they played live music for us while we ate! The rooms themselves are very spacious and having a fully-equipped kitchen was a huge plus. The atmosphere they have created here is truly special.
