Great hotel, everything is so nice and well though-through. Everything is brand new, it is modern but very cosy and traditional at the same time. I stayed in the suite which was a very big room. There are also 3 restaurants in the hotel, tried the Austrian and Japanese ones and they were very good. Breakfast is excellent, many options and good quality of food. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The breakfast is good with a wide choice of warm (saussages, eggs, ham) and cold items (ham, cheese, marmelade, cerreals, fruit, etc.). The dinner is good -allways with a meat and fish choice. Fish is fresh - as Valmar has a direct supply line from Croatia. The rooms are spatious, clean and well eqipped. The apres ski bar is well eqipped with very friendly staff. Parking slots are available in the garage , but do not forget to book a parking slot for your car in advance!

We were on our road back home and decided to do sleepover, this hotel exceeded our expectation. Location was great in mountains, everything perfectly clean and staff very friendly. In the end we regretted that it was only one night but we will definitely come back. Extra plus for dogs being allowed in breakfast room!

The hotel has a gorgeous view! Wish the rooms all had the same view- though I stayed in the junior suite, it was on the 1st floor and it was as wow as I would have wanted. But if you’re here to ski, it has a great location- a bridge that connects directly to the slopes, so you can ski in and out. The ski lifts are just a small slope down hill. The hotel also has conveniently located lockers for your ski gears. If you need to rent, the ski shop (with fabulous service and good quality equipment) is right at the hotel. The hotel can also arrange for ski lessons and purchase of the lift pass. There’s a lovely spa with a small pool and gym downstairs. Kids play area is small, with just enough to entertain for a short afternoon of poor weather. The buffet breakfast has a lovely spread and even includes Prosecco if you drink in the morning! Dinner menu is a five course, pricey so skip unless you prefer not to trudge out for a meal, which is about a 8min uphill walk. It is also in the middle of the two bus stops at Oberteaurn , so expect to walk 7-10 mins either way (upslope or downslope) Overall I would say this hotel is great if you want to ski, or chill at the lobby area to watch people ski. Fantastic location right in the centre of everything, next to a skiing chairlift, Spar, ski hire shop and short walk to the apres-ski bars! Our accommodation was excellent very clean and although the rooms were basic we had everything we needed. The owner was very welcoming and accommodating and even though we’d arrived really early we were able to check in to our rooms which was great to catch up with some much needed sleep! Lovely sauna and breakfast and dinner were included in the price. Boot and ski rooms in the basement.

Absolutely amazing with children and still the parents can have a bit of luxury as well. Ski in & ski out location is ideal! On site ski school for small kids is a game changer and the ski instructors are so attentive. Abundance of activities and facilities for children. Lovwly (adults only) spa on the 3rd floor allows for a break from the child friendly rest of the hotel.

Huge selection of food and all of it of exceptional quality (often organic). Super delicios and fine dining quality dinners. The wellness areas are also luxiorious with big tea and drink selection (for free). No matter what is the weather outside, you can spend a wonderful time inside the hotel with your family.

Great restaurants, worth booking a table if you're in a larger group and they open later in the evening, like 5-6pm. Various menu options including vegan/vegetarian. On the slopes the bars are playing very loud music but serve quickly so you don't wait too long.

It is a very beautiful and quiet town.

It is a very beautiful and quiet town. Beautiful views of the mountains. Ideal for hiking. There is a very nice river that runs parallel to the main road. Maybe there should be an ice cream parlor in the summer. That would be nice.

If you want your skiing winter experience to be idyllic, be sure to book a room right here. Hotel on the trail + extraordinary food offer (breakfast, lunch, mid-meal and dinner) + activities and content for the youngest and super-friendly staff will make your annual event unforgettable. The possibility of leaving the hotel directly on the ski lift and already in the first slope to feel the perfect tracks or powder trails, simply magical. Plus, while Obertauern is covered in natural snow, other surrounding ski resorts don't offer nearly as much satisfaction.

Favourite places: the beautiful mountains, lakes around the walking trails, you can do paddle boarding on one of the lakes, free of charge hiring the board and paddle, breathtaking views Binggl Bakery: wide variety of pastries, bread and coffee, great place to have breakfast. Pink Flamingo: Delicious burgers and pizzas, tasty lemonades Freiwild: Friendly and fast service, delicious beef goulash/stew, pesto and mozzarella chicken, Cordon bleu, fresh mixed salad, hommade chocolate mousse, cottage cheese strudel and berries, great elderflower lemonade It is really easy to get around Obertauern with google maps Plan your visit at least for a week in summer, there is so much to do and the place is incredibly laid back and relaxing.
