Staying at Turon Gates to visit the nearby Capertee Valley for birdwatching. Loved the place. Beautiful setting on a peaceful river and Gang-Gang Cuckatoos right outside the cabin ! We also saw hundreds of Kangaroos nearby from the road leading to our cabin ! The cabin was spacious and very confortable. Excellent place for the money.

Katoomba main strip is a little sad unfortunately and looks...

Katoomba main strip is a little sad unfortunately and looks a little rundown and needs a little TLC. That said there are a few antiquey type shops that are worth looking through if that's your thing. There are plenty of cheap food options in the main street but there are also some very good restaurants around town that you will need to book ahead for. There are also a few good pubs and bars in town with the Carrington working on a new offering that should open soon I hope. The RSL is new and has good food and drink options in a modern setting. At the end of the day you are most likely in Katoomba for the spectacular views, great bush walks and attractions and that will always be its real draw.

There is nothing not to like about Leura, it is picturesque, quiet, has lovely boutique shops as well as major grocery stores, people are friendly and its the kind of place you can do little or a lot.

A delightful Blue Mountains town.

A delightful Blue Mountains town. Superb valley and falls lookouts eg Govert's Leap nearby. Main hotel right in town was excellent for an evening meal. Have been here a number of times over the years and always a pleasure to come back again.

The purpose of our trip was to show our travelling companions the scenic beauty on offer in and around Lithgow. They were suitably impressed with Mount York, Hassans Walls, Pearsons Lookout and absolutely blown away with Glen Davis and the Capertee Valley.

The property is modern on the inside, with well-appointed...

The property is modern on the inside, with well-appointed bathroom, comfortable bed and cosy shared sitting room. The breakfast was perfect and set us up for the day, with home-made yoghurt and muesli, warm croissants and muffins that arrive at your table in the comfortable lounge room. Views of the mountains make this a beautiful setting to enjoy a few days. We felt at peace from the inside out. Easy to find, well-lit even at night time. Added bonus: free wifi worked perfectly. One of my favourite ever places.

The cleanliness and position of the property was spot on. There were 5 of us with only 3 bedrooms so we didn't all get a bed to ourself. There is a separate cabin outside which would have suited a younger person as no bathroom

Great place to visit if you're interested in outdoor...

Great place to visit if you're interested in outdoor activities. It can be quite cold and windy though, even in summer, so check the weather forecast and bring appropriate clothing. Mt Victoria is a very small community, so be prepared to travel for some things - Katoomba is only a 20min drive away and has everything you would need (including sightseeing!).

This is a nice area down the road from busy Penrith.

This is a nice area down the road from busy Penrith. It is fairly quiet and generally a safe area with nice parks and walking trails. Plenty of good cafes for your morning quality coffee. Easily leave your car at the railway station and hop on the train. Excellent National Park in nearby Glenbrook.
