We really enjoyed our stay here. The setting is gorgeous and the room is comfortable and well equipped. The food in the restaurant was delicious and all the staff were absolutely excellent with their service and communication. Unfortunately we didn’t get all their names but Ethan was one! Highly recommend staying here.

We have one of the LOFT studio (with sitting, kitchen, and bathroom / toilet below and the bed with another TV & air-cond/heater up-stair), and it was the best accommodation of our trip. The room is perfectly clean, the kitchen is well equipped with all sort of drinks (sparkling water, soft drink, juice, gin, whisky, vodka, wine...coffee, tea...even a traveller adapter and Panadol!!! - all at a price). The choice of movies (NEW and old) is fantastic - it will takes at least 10 days to finish with 24 hours continuous watching! In the bathroom, all towers are doubles (like for 4 persons, though it's a room for 2). At the ground floor are the lounge, bar, restaurant, and cafe (the breakfast was nice! & the manager a very easy going friendly person) and a big under-covered courtyard with lots of tables & chairs - there is also an art gallery. The location of the hotel is PERFECT for me, as my trip to Hobart is to try some nice foods around and take some photos. Also there is complementary valet parking for our car and was there ready in the morning when we check out - THANK YOU, GUYS!

Tasmania highlights

The Bay of Fires

Bursting with colour, the Bay of Fires hosts beaches dotted with giant boulders cloaked in striking orange moss and sapphire waters for diving, swimming and snorkelling.

Cutting edge art at MONA

The Museum of Old and New Art offers a feast for the senses. Accompanying the impressive gallery is fine dining, a library, cinema and even an on site winery.

Cradle Mountain National Park

Hiking is the best way to explore the natural beauty of this area, where rugged mountain ranges reflect in the waters of glacial Lake St Clair and snowy peaks appear in winter.

Whitewater rafting on the Derwent River

The Derwent River is a prime spot for adrenalin-packed whitewater rafting. Even beginners can join in on the easier runs, while the pros can try out the fast-moving waters to test their skills.

FAQs about hotels in Tasmania

Laidback Island of Incredible Landscapes

Perhaps most famous for the deceptively cute-looking Tasmanian devil, tranquil Tassie, as it’s affectionately known, boasts some of Australia’s most impressive landscapes.

Most 5-star Tasmanian hotels are in its historic capital Hobart, a beautiful city cascading down slopes towards the sea. Its highest points offer far-reaching views towards the bay’s lush islands and headlands. The furthest headland shelters Port Arthur, a former convict colony touted as Australia’s answer to Alcatraz.

Just outside the capital is Richmond, home of Australia’s oldest bridge. To the north-east is Swansea, across Great Oyster Bay from the Freycinet Peninsula, site of stunning Wineglass Bay.

Bicheno has a sweeping, sandy beach, while St Helens beach further north is protected by land outcrops that are birdlife havens. To its west Launceston features the large Queen Victoria Museum and beautiful Cataract Gorge. It is also the gateway to the north coast resorts where many cheap hotels in Tasmania are located and available to book on Booking.com.

One such resort is Devonport, the arrival point for ferries from Melbourne. Burnie also has a port, and is linked by a coastal road to Stanley whose narrow promontory ends in a rock called The Nut. South is wonderful Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, and to its west is the sleepy town of Strahan whose backdrop is the mountains covering south-western Tasmania.

We enjoyed staying in Launceston.

We enjoyed staying in Launceston. Easy to get around and good restaurants. The surrounding district is very scenic and we enjoyed our cruise on the Tamar River, our drive to Beaconsfield and surrounding district, and the afternoon spent at the Cataract Gorge including accessing the scenic chairlift.

The cottage had everything you needed. The rooms were large and the beds were very comfortable and plenty of towels. I did appreciate the selection of teas you left. It was lovely watching the rabbits out of our large windows. Even though the weather wasn’t good I still enjoyed my time in this cottage. Thank you

Cradle mountain is beautiful and wonderful.

Cradle mountain is beautiful and wonderful. We have been there on several occasions including when we were engaged. The environment is peaceful and probably better in the cooler conditions (Like now) when there are fewer tourists around. The rain adds a special feeling when walking around Dove lake. Plenty of pleasant walks around cradle mountain.
