There are plenty of fish to be caught of the wallaroo jetty ( watched a guy catch a huge king fish ) also there is a protected swimming area to the right of the jetty with shark netting and a pontoon in the middle for jumping off. The towns people are super friendly and it's quite a relaxing atmosphere.

A beautiful spot, lovely beach, with the jetty & pool and water park a great bonus to the experience. The town had lots to offer, food & shopping wise without being overcrowded or too touristy. A lovely base location to explore surrounding towns and areas with ease.

The hub of Yorke Peninsula in my opinion.

The hub of Yorke Peninsula in my opinion. There are a lot of historic sites around the area. The people are very friendly and inviting. It is close to some of the most excellent beaches at Moonta Bay, Wallaroo North Beach and Port Hughes. Lots of places to do shopping and have a look around. It is a very affordable place to stay and I just love the town.

The beach is rocky but looked beautiful.

The beach is rocky but looked beautiful. You are 15 minutes from Kadina and Wallaroo, if you were looking to go there and they’re booked out this is a great option. It’s a small country town and would recommend for a quiet getaway. Moonta has a cool water park for the kids. It’s worth checking out! Capella’s pizza was delicious!

We lived there for a few years a long while ago so I can't say anything much about the tourist side of this town. We go occasionally to visit friends who still live there and that is all we do. It was nice to see some improvements since our last visit all aimed at making the town a pleasant place to visit.

Pt Hughes has only a general store / tavern so it's advised...

Pt Hughes has only a general store / tavern so it's advised to book ahead if you want meals esp on weekends. If you order fast food delivery expect delays especially on long weekends or holidays. But the lack of local dining options ensures hardly any traffic or crowds which for me far outweighed any perceived inconveniences like waiting for food delivery. Boat ramp is huge and can get very busy on a few peak weekends as it services the whole area so you might have to wait to launch or even just to get a coffee at the cafe adjoining the tavern at times but we didn't care as the scenery is so good. I actually did see some squid pulled from the jetty so that's an option. Moonta is only 5 mins drive (and is walkable/rideable if you're moderately fit on very well maintained trails) and has a good supermarket and most other stores you'll ever need when on holiday. Kadina is about a 15 minutes drive too if you do need larger stores. Lovely non hectic spot!

Under Edithburgh jetty was great place to be scuba diving. 2 pubs in close proximity to Edithburgh motel were good for meals.Easy to get around E/burgh. Because of Easterly winds bit dirty for diving but clears up quickly when wind eases and incoming tide has come in.

Lovely seaside town although I was very angry at the council shooting cormorants out of the trees & killing them with air guns - just as we were having a lovely meal at the Dalrymple Hotel/Restaurant opposite! All because the birds make a nuisance with their pooping! They were killed in droves & not very nice to witness. They did say they only do it 3-monthly but why kill them? Surely just scaring them off would do the same job. Shame on Council!

Minlanton is a nice little town with all the amenities.

Minlanton is a nice little town with all the amenities. People are friendly and there is a good range of places to eat for such a small town. I was there for work, but it has close access to a number of coastal towns, would be a good place to base yourself for trips around the peninsula.
