It is the perfect hotel and location for relaxation. The guest relations manager, Katerina Kyurkchieva, was a wonderful lady who greatly impressed me. She has a personal touch to the whole experience, a very classy lady who represents the best of this hotel, the spirit of hospitality, understanding of people and their needs, and providing the best to guests within her ability and authority. Excellent! She is an asset to the hotel. The hotel is good in general, with facilities, a great Spa, swimming pool, staff and location. am very satisfied with the experience. I Will definitely return next year.

This is 200 years old house converted in guest house. Very authentic vibe of living in an Ottoman era house. Quiet and immersed in nature. The owner cannot speak English but managed well to communicate through google translate. Very friendly and go above and beyond to help the guest. Highly recommend if you are looking for a historical stay in a small village away from the noise of big cities. Very clean.

Great spa facilities, breakfasts was my personal highlight (a large choice of OVERYTHING, and the daily large honeycomb straight out of the hive was truly exceptional) extras are not overpriced which was a pleasant surprise at the checkout. Any technical issues are resolved very quickly and in a friendly manner(we though we had a broken light and the technician was sent immediately) turned out the mistake was on our side - we didn’t put place the access card in the card holder, the technician faced our silliness with relief and happiness. Unforgettable experience 💯

Pleasant town in the mountains. Good restaurants, many things to see and experience both in the town and the surroundings. Rich events programme during summer. Well kept pedestrian areas and parks. Excellent opportunities for hiking, cultural and spa tourism.

The main reason to visit is to see the absolutely...

The main reason to visit is to see the absolutely spectacular Tracian gold treasure when it is exhibited in the vault of the local history museum (once a year for a month, usually September - October). For those who know more of the turbulent Bulgarian history there is a wealth of other museums and historical places of interest too. A lot of the restaurants are of above-average quality too. We tried The Old House and Perfecto. Both were excellent with very attentive service. The Old Miners' Club Hotel in the town centre has a fine lobby bar too.

Amazing view!

Amazing view! Batak Reservoir is really beautiful, even though we were there during the snowy winter! In the summer I'm sure it is full of water sports options. It is so calming and relaxing! Great place, like 2 hours from Sofia and you will feel the clean air and the wonderful mountains.

I will recommend to visit the 'STENATA', it's located on the other hill of the mountain with amazing view of Surnica and the Dospat dam. The hike is 1 hour and 15 minutes there is plenty of water on that track.

A neat little town at the foot of the Rhodopes. A beautiful center with a fountain. There are many Islamic people (>35%) but they seem to live in peace and harmony with the Christians there. Totally approve this!

Batak was quiet on the Saturday afternoon when we arrived.

Batak was quiet on the Saturday afternoon when we arrived. As if time had stopped. The old historical church is an absolute must-see, stops your breath and gives you goosebumps. The two Batak museums are close by. You can buy a ticket for all three sights in the Batak Historical Museum for 4 lvs (approx. 2 EUR). There are several cafes across the town and small restaurants to eat at. The Batak Reservoir is a 10min drive away. Make sure to either climb up, or drive, to the monument on the hilltop in Batak for a panoramic view of the town.

The Iglika Bistro is a superb eating place with a wonderful denne menu, and an extensive take-away menu, all at very reasonable prices and they received 4.8 out of 5 stars for their food from very satisfied customers! Their staff are extremely helpful and gave us directions to the pedestrian only walkway where there are fantastic clothing shops and other facilities. The town has a very good Billa right in the centre, and a rather disappointing Lidl right on the outskirts of town. On one of our walks from the Svetispas Hotel a dear old lady indicated that we should follow her and she took us to hidden away very hot thermal springs next to the river that you can use for free as they are apparently on municipal land. The town is quite small but is well served by many businesses. There are bus services, and a narrow gauge train, lovely high wooded mountains, and a strongly flowing river. There is also a small market quite close to Billa and the municipal offices in the centre of town.

A clean town with many people.

A clean town with many people. In reality, the hotels and guest houses are a little outside the city next to the dam. There are many new gazebos, tables, benches, swings, places to walk among the trees by the water. Very beautiful views. The accommodation has restaurants with good cuisine and quality products.

It's an amazing historical location with a great option of also combine the trip by going to the Batak lake. The town itself is fairly small, so it's very quiet and peaceful. Prices on things around are lower overall.
