Clean, new amenities with thoughtful, low-waste touches (DIY filter coffee with just the right amount). Lots of space and comfortable rooms, the hot pools on the balcony were a really lovely touch.

We came here for our Honeymoon trip and got a complementary gifts from the hotel which was very nice and made our day as it was our last day in Canmore! The room is spacious, clean and very cozy with a fireplace. Also, the mountain view from our balcony was just perfect. This gonna be our favorite hotel in Canmore!

At check-in, staff offered an upgrade to a larger room at a reduced rate. It was on the quieter side of the hotel. It had a separate sitting room and dining area with facilities to heat food, if required. The hotel had a laundry facility for guests to use, which was extremely helpful.

Banff is a beautiful scenic town to visit during the off-season. Avoid the main areas otherwise and walk on the back streets to discover more of what it's all about other than shops and restaurants. There are so many great walks in the area around the river and Tunnel Mountain. Otherwise it's just wall to wall people on Banff Avenue. Plan your trip well to avoid high season and busy long weekends.

It’s quieter than Banff but close enough to commute for dinners, shopping etc. Nice small town with beautiful mountains. Hard to find a place to eat after 8 or 9 PM, other than fast food. They may advertise open till 11 but then you discover the kitchen closed hours earlier.

Lake Louise is getting very over touristed.

Lake Louise is getting very over touristed. The Chateau is off limits except to guests and durring peak season the rates there are around $2000 per night which puts it out of reach for most people and the resturants are mostly only for guests. Parking at $35 in the summer is silly and the lot fills up early in the morning. The busses also get booked up early forcing some tourists to book "Private Tours" at an exhorbant cost. We live in Calgary and love the area but now only come in the off season or occasionaly camp nearby in the summer as most hotels are north of $500 per night. We can afford to stay anywhere but do look for value.. Parks Canada need to re-evaluate...

What can I say except for WOW!

What can I say except for WOW! My husband and I were there in Sept/Oct and everywhere we turned was another magnificent view of a mountain, glacier, canyon, lake. We rented bikes and rode to Vermillion Lakes and beyond. We hiked up Johnston Canyon, we took easy and more challenging walks, and met people from around the world. We flew into Calgary, drove to Banff, then to Castle Junction and stayed in two places I would recommend - Johnston Canyon Lodge and Bungaloos and Castle Mountain Chalets. We had a great trip!

Excellent location, Surprisingly good.

Excellent location, Surprisingly good. I had assumed it was just a "whistle stop" half-way between Banff and Jasper; but it was pleasantly comfortable and at a reasonable price. Accommodations, amenities, and restaurant were all very good

We loved Banff!

We loved Banff! The atmosphere and the people made our time there a very enjoyable experience. Trips to the Gondola, Canmore, Lake Louise, Lake Miniwanka all worth it. Fabulous places to eat with various price ranges. Lots of things to see and do. The transport, Roam, excellent 👌

Really great place to visit and relax.

Really great place to visit and relax. The only thing we would not recommend is any loft style condos/rooms for those with bad legs/older persons. It could be a struggle for some in the loft. Cool place to visit! Just our style + vibe to get away and enjoy the views + fresh air.

Lake Louise attracts thousands of visitors who have to be...

Lake Louise attracts thousands of visitors who have to be managed; it's overshadowed by the mass of the fairmont Chateau hotel. Louise is one of hundreds of vividly coloured, turquoise lakes in the Alberta Rockies. If you want beauty with a little peace and quiet look elsewhere. Emerald lake, half an hour away from Louise, is beautiful ad attracts fewer visitors. Peyto lake, see photo, on the Icefield Parkway is perhaps the most dramatic (hint: don't turn right into the parking but continue straight on to the upper parking and avoid a strenuous climb uphill on foot). Accommodation at Lake Loise is expensive. Consider staying in Banff or Golden and driving into the area. Parks Canada has useful info about shuttle service and parking.
