I will say thay the young man at the front desk was very friendly but the room we had originally paid for, smelt really bad, Front desk gave us another room but not what we paid for as we booked a kingsize and were given 2 queens with a kitchenette, as that was the last one available. Room smelt like old cooked food.Carpets and chairs were stained and dirty. Mug for coffee was visibly dirty. Tub drain was caked with mould and scum. Bed sheets were clean. All in all ,probably one of the most unpleasant stays we have ever had.

We enjoyed touring the local wineries nearby; a bit of a drive from Vernon, but not a problem. It is easy to get around by car. The food at Gray Monk winery and Peak winery was excellent. Another favorite winery was Arrowleaf, which has a beautiful picnic area.
We enjoyed visiting Davison farms, which has local apples and fresh pies made on the premises.

There is no end to the beautiful views in Lake Country. The properties are big so its nice to go for a drive and view them all along the lake. There are lovely wineries all throughout Lake Country and Okanagan Centre including Carr's Landing Area. They have great wine tasting experiences and some have gourmet restaurants. It's nice to stay at the B&Bs in the area that have a view. I would highly recommend Lake Country. In the summer there are lots of lakes to boat on and nice restaurants in the area.
There are not too many stores so not really the place to go shopping for anything other than food and liquor, dollar store or drug store items.
I would avoid ordering food as many of the restaurants/pubs don't deliver if you are over 10 min away.
