- From US$250.74 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 709 reviewsWhile the cost of the accommodation was high (but hey, that's Switzerland), relatively, it was well worth it. The location is excellent, central in town and a walk across the road to the train station (I came to Vevey from Geneva). The room was like a modern and very well maintained motel room, with a hot and strong shower/bath, a very comfortable bed, and basic but useful facilities, including a desk (I was there for work, after all!). The breakfast provided an excellent start to the day, with a good variety of high quality food, with the bonus of wonderfully friendly staff. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the stay, and, cost aside, I'd gladly stay there again. Very highly recommended!Guest review byJulianAustralia
- From US$235.70 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 3,995 reviewsWhat a stunning place to stay for three nights. The room was huge and very clean with a spectacular view of the lake and mountains. I made sure to get one with a view. There was no problem getting a kettle from reception and the restaurant even gave me a jug of milk for my tea/coffee. Seeing as there was a fridge this was perfect for a coffee in the morning. The restaurant downstairs is beautiful and what is even better is that there’s a 20% reduction for residents. Because there is a direct train from Geneva airport to Montreux it makes it a perfect place for a beautiful relaxing weekend. The staff were lovely too.Guest review byClaireIreland
- From US$233.07 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,531 reviewsIt’s cozy, warm. The first day we arrived, as usual due to crazy traveling and lethargy, my wife and I had our moods quite off, however the front counter who attended to us was beyond kind and helpful. He was so sweet to invite my wife in and help me with the bags. He even told us to rest and will attend to us the next day. He was so accommodating. He allowed us to take our time with check out and did not hassle us to rush out. I may say 100 out of 10. I will definitely bring my kids and wife back here.Guest review byRasween SinghMalaysia
- From US$333.31 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 654 reviewsThis is a wonderful privately owned and operated hotel. It makes a change from the sameness of the multiples. Waiters are in white jackets and bows with excellent customer service. The location itself is a little village in its own right up a steep hill overlooking Montreux and the lake. The view in the morning is the most magnificent view I have ever had while enjoying breakfast. Staff are friendly, especially Jasmine, on reception. This hotel represents old world values in the best possible sense.Guest review byPaulIreland

Had a room with balcony with view over the Geneva Lake. The night was pleasantly eerie and waking up in the morning mist with mountain look was sublime. Very nice SPA as well. An unexpected meeting with a special person staying in the hotel made everything feel even more unique.Guest review byJacopoItaly

After visiting bigger towns, Montreux was a refreshing quieter cousin. Made the most of the Montreux travel pass. Allowing free bus and train travel as far as Vervey. I would suggest when travelling by train further afield to get help from the ticket office, as this will save you money. The free Queen Studio tour is worth a visit, located in the Casino. Boat trips are a must, we did a circular 2.5 hr one and it was worth paying the small amount extra for the first class. Chateaux Chillon is worth a visit, and only a 40 minute stroll back to the town, along the beautiful shore of lake Geneva.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

beautiful, tranquil town of Vevey is a pleasure to visit- we landed in Geneva and drove to Vevey that morning and we just loved our visit. We could have stayed much longer. Terrific restaurants, the village and shopping and walking the lake - just wonderful.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Take the time to explore the shops along the Grand Rue.
Take the time to explore the shops along the Grand Rue. I especially enjoyed the La Consomm market which sold local products, and a well organized second hand shop on the western end of the street. Unfortunately the Paper museum was closed due to holiday while we were there. The balloon museum was small but interesting, especially the little area with videos telling the story of the Breitling orbits.Guest review byMountain LoverUnited States - 10.0
Carry a map/guide when visiting places of interest / shops.
Carry a map/guide when visiting places of interest / shops. It's easier to get around with a friend and to travel with a taxi. Trains are available, but mostly when visiting areas nearby or larger locations. If you are not used to a cool to cold climate, take some warm clothes, especially if you are going to go hiking up the mountains - it can get pretty cold. Nearby attractions include Gruyères Castle, Gstaad, Glacier 3000 and especially Vevey, the closest area where you can experience Lake Geneva.Guest review bychintanpatelSouth Africa - 10.0
The Community of Veytaux is at an excellent location towards...
The Community of Veytaux is at an excellent location towards the east end of the Lake of Geneva. Although the community is small, you can do a lot from here. The Chateau Chillon is in the political community of Veytaux. The chateau is impressive; and its visitors can learn a lot about the history of this region of Switzerland. Further east, you can visit Villeneuve and can take a steamer boat cruise on the Lake of Geneva. - The Swiss Train Pass helps to save a lot of money when you use the trains, the boats, the gondolas, the busses, etc. throughout the country. West of Veytaux is Montreux. You can enjoy the lovely community of Montreux alongside the lake, go up the Roches de Naye and enjoy the beautiful view over the Lake of Geneva, take trains in diverse directions (e.g., Gruyère, for the cheese factory tour, maybe combined with a tour at the chocolate factory of Caillier, the Golden Express yo Interlaken, etc.). If you like train traveling, you can easily travel to Geneva and see the old town, visit the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, go up to Brig and see its old town or visit Briggerbad and its thermal bath and waterpark, or even go up to Zermatt if your an early bird and go upon the Gornergrat or up on the Small Matterhorn. Veytaux is a place to stay at and see; and, it can "base camp" to see many more places in the greater region. Just have the right train pass so that you can easily use the public transport network and comfortably travel to different sites of interest. Eating out and enjoying your companionship while being served a good meal is possible as well.Guest review byReneCanada - 10.0
We Loved our stay there ❤️
We Loved our stay there ❤️ The castle was an extraordinary experience. It brings us out of our common sense place. Wonderful view at front side terrace of big tower, we enjoyed our evenings there. Peaceful morning breakfast at our back terrace, surrounded by trees, perfect place for morning yoga meditations. Beautiful room, large, a kitchen supported staying longer at the place. A nice table inside was great for the rainy days.Guest review byYaraBrazil - 10.0
Great location to explore the Swiss Alps.
Great location to explore the Swiss Alps. Magnificent scenery, "a postcard at every turn!" We visited in early December and they had had snow. Would definitely recommend a trip on the Mont Blanc express to Chamonix. As well as a trip to Glacier 3000, both offering stunning views of the Alps. A car is a must to appreciate the location.Guest review byPaulAustralia - 10.0

Montreux is a beautiful town, located on Lake Geneva, surrounded by mountains. Great dining, lovely flower lined promenade stretching for several kilometres along the lakeside. Great train services to many parts of Switzerland, especially the Golden Pass Express, which runs between Montreux and Interlaken, travelling through amazing landscapes, Special mention if you are a Queen fan is the Freddie Tour, which is an amazing tour and commentary about the time that Freddie Mercury and the band spent in Montreux's Mountain Studios, and the town, visiting locations where they hung out, and learning a true insight to Freddie. Will certainly return to this fabulous town.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It rained while we were there, so it put a bit of a dampener on our stay. We still caught the bus to the funicular and walked all around the town and waterfront, still beautiful city even in the rain! We had a great meal at Blah Blah - Italian restaurant!Guest review byJohnUnited States - 10.0
A lovely little town in a superb Alpine setting.
A lovely little town in a superb Alpine setting. Outside often the loudest sound is the distant clangour of cow bells. Everyone there is really friendly, there are good options to eat out, the local trains give access to some great places, and if you stay more than one night (I think) you get a Pays d’en Haut discount card for reduced entry to various places (including the wonderful L’Etivaz cheese cellars) and free travel on local trains and buses.Guest review byAndrewAustralia
