My stay at this hotel was a delightful experience and a great stay. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with a beautiful garden made it truly special. The owner has plenty of horses which were brought in in the morning which was a stunning scenery to watch. The short walk to town added convenience without sacrificing the peaceful retreat vibe. Rooms were comfortable and well-maintained. Highly recommended for a memorable getaway.

I was very excited for my trip to Rapa Nui, as it had always been a lifetime dream. My stay at Atavai Hotel made it even more special—it honestly felt like visiting friends from the very first minute until the last. I was warmly welcomed at the airport by Antoine and his family with a beautiful flower lei, and they kindly drove me to the hotel. Antoine took the time to explain what to do on Rapa Nui while I was sipping my fresh juice and then showed me to my room. The room was simple but very nice. It had everything I needed—Wi-Fi, a TV, a fridge, a kettle with tea and coffee. It was very clean and comfortable. Once you step outside, you’re surrounded by beautiful tropical plants and trees—it truly feels like a little piece of heaven. I only managed to have breakfast once during my stay because I had early tours most mornings, but that one breakfast was fantastic with a fresh omelette, fruit salad, and more. On my departure day, Antoine even suggested I spend my time exploring the town, and he personally brought my luggage to the airport before my flight. How nice is that! Small gestures like this really made me feel at home.

The staff are amazing, so helpful, kind and flexible organising the tours. Tour guide speaks perfect English and they tell you all the rapa nui history! I would highly recommend this hotel! The room is huge and very comfy. The sea view is perfect to wake up to in the morning. Only a 5 minute walk to town, but the hotel has wonderful barbecues in the evening. Its a great place to meet and mingle with the locals and other guests at the hotel.

The hotel is set on beautiful grounds with a lovely swimming pool , the staff are super friendly and very helpful . The rooms were clean and had a good powerful shower the room also had good air conditioning and had a room safe . The buffet breakfast was excellent.

Great location if you want to be close to the airport. Staff are wonderful, super friendly and helpful, tell you everything you need to know, help you with booking tours etc. Andres was exceptional, very friendly and great source of local knowledge

Good location, just 10-15 mins walk to the town centre and the sea side. Room is clean, but the bathroom is bit narrow. The staff is helpful, he gave us a lot of great suggestions about our trip. Nice breakfast but do not have many options.

this island is the best of any polynesian island I have...

this island is the best of any polynesian island I have visited. It has a foot in the present and still holds onto its past. I loved this about it. Not fancy for those who need this. . . but a totally beautiful simple place, wonderful people and land unstained with modernity the "bling" of modernity.

We stayed for an entire week to unwind from 2 months in...

We stayed for an entire week to unwind from 2 months in South America, but that might be a bit long if you're just looking to see the Moai. Hanga Roa was much more sparse than expected, but once you find your bearings you'll find there are plenty of restaurants dotted around and almost all of them have good ratings. There's a small place for public swimming which is walled off so it's safe, but slightly rocky so wear shoes. There was a dog there but he was very friendly! The people are friendly and everything feels really relaxed, and there's the opportunity to see the sunsets in that area too. ...maybe be slightly careful with the drinks there...the wine was fine and what you'd expect, but we had a Daiquiri in one of the seafront bars and they were so strong we nearly died. Honestly - we could barely walk back safely to our hotel after just two each and we both felt low-energy for multiple days afterwards. You have been warned.

This was a trip of a lifetime.

This was a trip of a lifetime. I recommend everyone to visit Easter island. There is so much to do and see. This is an amazing place to visit. We loved doing the tours around the island and seeing the Moais everywhere and learning about the history of the island. My favorite places were the Quarry, Anakena beach and seeing the sunrise at Tongariki.
