This is truly like paradise! White sand, coral colored water, wonderful surrondings. The staff are really helpful and welcoming. Everyday there are different activities that you can take part in. If you´re vegan/vegetarian the options are slim, but food was still good. Staff was great and our bungalow was amazing! Enjoyed incredible sunsets every night.

The resort had everything we could have asked for in terms of comfort and the service was absolutely great. The location is the best of Barú, beautiful beach with white sand. We love our room with sea view and nice details. The personal was amazing, their arrange everything what you asked them. We went one evening to look at the high-lightning plankton and one day we went to Rosario Islands. Just ask the personal or Alessandro who send us a privat Taxi who picked up from our Hotel in Cartagena to Barú and the driver Fernando was very kind and helpful. The contact was easy and uncomplicated. We’re got the best cocktails from El Chaza with his mobile Bar on the beach. And more of sales are from my country Venezuela 🇻🇪 We recommended Calamari Barú and want to come again!

We had a beautiful stay. We splashed out on the Vista Mar room, which was perhaps the most beautiful hotel room we have ever stayed in. It's a large, circular cabin built of wooden beams, with a conical, thatched roof. Best of all, if has a large balcony danging out over the turquoise water, and with its own hammock. Perfect for relaxing in the warm, Caribbean breeze. At low season (early May), we had the place almost to ourselves. Service from Kevin and the team was excellent. Food was basic but tasty, with great Colombian breakfasts. We particularly loved happy hour cocktails (2 for 1 between 5 and 6 pm) and then watching the beautiful sunsets.

I spent 3 of my most peaceful days in this enchanting, authentic, unpretentious little piece of paradise in the middle of the Caribbean sea and I truly fell in love with the place, its nature and the local karacol village community..

You can’t beat the price & the beach is beautiful.

You can’t beat the price & the beach is beautiful. The people were great & friendly. However I would bring mosquito spray & ear plugs bc if you get the room next to a generator it will drive you crazy. The best room is with the balcony so you could enjoy the sound of the waves & beautiful view, it’s definitely worth the extra money. Food & drinks were good. Take the taxi & boat suggested.

Loved how you could walk one side of the island from our accommodation. Plenty of activities on option if you choose. We ate at the hotel as good menu and convenient. Lovely outdoor restaurant with food cooked as ordered. One warning about the boat trip back you get wet!! so does your luggage.

Hotels are pretty isolated, so you may not go to another restaurant in case you don't like yours. The beach on the 'more popular' part are facing the industry harbour and the rafinery, which impede the experience.

The staff, location and room were excellent.

The staff, location and room were excellent. Staff went out of the way to help and guide. We booked a car through the hotel for pickup and drop off to Cartagena and the car service (Carlos the driver was awesome and very helpful and punctual). We had a medical emergency and the staff were super helpful to guide and help arrange transportation to the nearest city. Highly recommend. Water pressure at the hotel at times can be an issue (beyond the control of the property), which is to be expected. The staff informed us of low water pressure times and were very helpful in providing a bucket to store water for shower if needed during low pressure times.

Keep in mind that not all hotels have beaches, even though they do have access to the sea. Also remember that walking from one place of the island to another is not possible due to the mangrove, so most of the time you will need to take a boat, which usually is provided by the hotel at a cost. This is a place to relax under the sun, swim in the sea, eat delicious food, and do some low intensity activities like paddle board or snorkeling. It is not a place to explore the surroundings, have long hikes, or party

This place is paradise!!! The resort has been developed in a very natural way, we felt we had plenty of privacy and space around us. The food could be improved a little but overall the experience was great. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable! Isla Mucura is the perfect place to relax! Get the elevated kiosk room if you want a bit of extra fun and uniqueness

Baru is not a lonely remote place where you will enjoy peace and quiet. Hotels and lodges are literally next to each other. There are many people. When swimming, be careful of boats and jet skis that drive here and there very close to the shore. But the sun and the sea make all that unimportant. There are also various excursion options.

Sunsets are amazing. The sea is BLUE blue, and the reef is a swim away to explore. Very small island, to explore through day and night nature activities. Bring nug spray and bug bite gel. You will need it but you are on a tropical island so to be expected. Would have spent one less day there and one more in the Old Town area of Cartagena

The rooms were spacious and close to the pool/beach/restaurant. The food and drinks were delicious. On our final night, we upgraded to the Private Villa with a Private pool and it was WELL WORTH IT! The private courtyard was beautiful and the pool was refreshing. The room was huge, comfortable and came with an outdoor bathroom.

great little hotels and restaurants in the area but too many...

great little hotels and restaurants in the area but too many hawkers selling you stuff. Be careful with your personal items. Bring your own towels. Sunset beach restaurant had nice cabana types to relax and consume.
