I do not understand the negative reviews left by some former guests of this hotel. This is an authentic place with a century-long history, beautifully restored last year and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. I spent two nights here at the end of November and truly wish I had stayed longer.
The staff are friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The spacious lobby with a fireplace, Earl Grey tea, and a large bar creates a warm and atmospheric space. The entire hotel breathes history, with newspaper clippings, portraits, and carefully preserved antique details that make you feel immersed in a real historical setting. It is truly one of a kind.
Most old hotels in the area are already closed, so I am very grateful to the new owners for preserving this place with such care and love, giving visitors a rare chance to experience something special. Breakfast was a buffet with enough variety to start an active day. The views from the balcony are stunning, and the room was spacious with a brand-new bathroom and a powerful hot shower. You can also enjoy breakfast on the veranda overlooking the mountains and breathing fresh mountain air.

Beautifully decorated apartment (201) with clean and modern facilities yet still having lots of lovely rural decorative ornamental pieces. Comfortable beds. Air conditioning in all rooms was a real bonus. Stunning shared pool area (for the 3 apartment) and we had it to ourselves for all of our stay. Views from the terrace and pool area have to be seen to be appreciated.

There were all kinds of sport facilities: basketball, football, ping pong etc, and the most popular hiking trails in Troodos are close by car.
Since there was a problem with the electricity when we arrived, we had the opportunity to try both the small house and apartment type accommodations. You can have more privacy with a house, as it has an own kitchen, but the rooms are much smaller and the wifi signal was very weak, practically none. The apartment was much more spacious, but if you want to cook, you need to use a shared kitchen. There was even netflix in the apartment that was missing in the house and unlike in the house, the wifi worked properly.
You need to have whatsapp on your mobile, as you get check in info by whatsapp. They have a phone number and they were responsive, could communicate in English.

Kakopetria is a beautiful destination that combines natural beauty, historical charm, and a sense of tranquility. Its picturesque setting, with stone houses, cobblestone streets, and lush landscapes, creates an idyllic atmosphere for visitors.
The surrounding nature is remarkable, with hiking trails like Varkotis and Chromium offering unique paths through green forests and along rivers. The peace provided by the environment makes hiking an invigorating experience. Additionally, the calming sound of the river that flows through the area, like the one you can hear in the backyard of Maritsa Lodge, offers a unique sense of inner peace, almost like the natural white noise of the outdoors.
In the village center, the traditional architecture remains intact, with taverns like Podji Poda serving excellent local cuisine, and small cafés welcoming you for a relaxing drink and dessert in the main square. Landmarks such as the chapels of Saint Nicholas and Saint George provide opportunities for pilgrimage, while Marina's Rope Park offers activities for the more adventurous visitors.
Overall, Kakopetria is an ideal destination for those seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, blending absolute tranquility with opportunities for outdoor activities and cultural exploration.

One of the most beautiful Cypriot villages.
Well organized beyond to what meets the eye.
Everybody can see the stunning village, especially at night. But only true nature lovers and adventures will fully enjoy the magic of the area.
There are tons of well maintained hiking trails to explore on foot or bike. Dozens of hidden gems to discover and plenty of great restaurants in the village and surrounding area to enjoy!

Omodos is a beautiful village with lots of nice wineries near by. It can get busy with coach parties but that is to be expected. Most restaurants and cafes close early evening so not a great deal to do in the evening. Wear comfy shoes as there is a lot of walking round all the narrow streets but it is so worth it.
We have visited several times and enjoy it each time.

Pedoulas was a wonderful base from which to explore this area of the Troodos Mountains. It was our first time in the mountains of Cyprus and we wanted to see sites such as Kykkos Monastery, Archangel Michaels church etc. and to do nature trails in the mountains. We achieved these objectives very comfortably from our location and could also move on to the west coast with a scenic (but very winding!) drive back down to sea level:)

Agros village is a perfect place to escape from busy city life for a couple of days and to enjoy the tranquility of traditional village lifestyle, walk the narrow streets, with beautiful , authentic architecture, meet locals, try local food and of course to recharge yourself with nature and mountain sceneries. Agros is very, very clean and the water is super tasty)

Absolutely loved being here. Great location. The host got us fruits from here garden orchard. She brought us lovely eggs from her own chickens. She just was so lovely and explained the area to us and made us so at home. We loved it so much we stayed more than planned.
Easy to get to the Olympus mountain and the Todooros mountains.
Great little place. Parking is super just in the yard. Private too very quiet.
The best WiFi reception. The best host and kindest.

Beautiful and well preserved mountain village, people are really friendly and they show love for their place. It is obvious they take good care of it. We had dinner and lunch at two different places and they were both really good. There is also a nice coffee shop with views of the mountains.
